Just read an article(SB Nation) where GGG blasts Ward and said when asked by HBO were they ready to fight, He said yes and Ward said no. According to the article, he was very unGGGlike. That was six hrs ago so I know Ward is gonna respond. He also said that as a man, Ward was dead to him. I truly hope that it's the spark that starts the flame to a fight between the two because for me it would be a true test for both fighters. A springboard for GGG and nice bump for Ward.
It sucks any time a huge fight doesn't happen but I wasn't in the negotiating room and both Ward and Golovkin have made quite the contradictory statements about a possible showdown over the years and lately... I don't think Golovkin should be looking to move up to 168 right now, but that's on him. Ward obviously has a fight currently lined up and who knows what his brand new and inexperienced promoter has in store for him.
Roc Nation isn't doing to bad with Cotto I also have to agree about GGG moving up to 168 I remember AA having a similar Aura then once he moved up it went down hill for him for a while .
I was always curious how long GGG was going to keep playing the nice guy? That is not to say he is not nice but he has to get frustrated not being able to land big fights. Froch being the most recent in a long line of so called professionals who are keeping him away from the big fights and big paydays. GGG probably feels that Ward is the only big name who will actually fight him.
