I'm sure the feeling after having sparred and getting hit cleanly is different for most, but wanted rule things out that are circling in my head.
I've been knocked down 3 times in all the sparring I've done (no shame :yep). Not to the point of complete unconsciousness, but did black out for maybe a millisecond until my hands were on the canvas. And of those 3 times, twice have followed up with the usual headaches the following day.
What worries me a little bit is that also flu-like symptoms developed days following the mild concussions. I'm not sure if that's just coincidence or could they be related and maybe I should seek doctor's opinion? By flu symptoms, I mean fever and soar throat.. not a lot of coughing, but do feel tired, feverish, and have headaches.
    Any thoughts?

WTF and you haven't gone to see a doctor?

Dude the brain is a complex piece of wetware. If you can EASILY connect physical symptoms to a brain trauma... WTF are you waiting for to go see a doctor?

Please tell me you have decided to hold off of sparring until after you have seen a doctor and saved up for the best headgear money can buy? Please!

Agree with Bald. Go to a doctor. Now. Don't spar. How far apart have these knockdowns been? Do you have blurred vision, speech problems or any other unusual symptoms apart from the 'flu-like ones?

That's just it.. I have not other symptom of concussion other than the headaches that I'm sure most of us get. No blurred vision no nausea. Both occurrences happened months in between.
As far as headgear, I've always used the Winning FG-2900.. not the best, but very reliable. And thanks for the worries fellas, but of course with mentioned symptoms above, I have not only stopped sparring, but working out altogether until I get my strength back. That's a given. I don't take things lightly, and yes next week I'll seek doctors opinion as well. Just wanted to ask experienced fighters' opinions.

just make sure you take a least a month off from sparring after a concussion, even if its a mild one. if you train with good fighters these types of things happen.

Its part of the shock, concussions are very bad things for you and put you under a lot of mental stress if nothing else. The symptoms you have is of an immune system running very low.

Go immediately if you feel worse or black out or anything like that. If you are just feeling a bit run down then its part of the trauma.

    I'd probably see someone anyway.

I'd agree with the guys above, see a doctor. Also, you're doing the right thing taking time out, I'd say no heavy headshots for 4-8 weeks.

    at least 8 weeks.
The brain recovers slowly as it is not intended to be ****ed up.

  9. Concussions arn't to be messed with in theory. If you have hurt your brain then give it time to recover and take serious note for the future. Most doctors want a brain scan record of each time you have concussion, each time is definitely a point of interest in maintaining a healthy brain.
