Firstly, does anyone have any idea who these two guys actually are sparring secondly, who do you see as the ideal sparring partners. For Canelo I would recomend: Andre Berto, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosely, Paulie Malinagi, For Mayweather I would recomend: Adrian Broner, Keith Thurman, Tim Bradley, Kell Brook Obviously it can become rather complicated as neither boxer would really want to get in a sparring partner who may end up being a future opponent. I think this is more of a problem for Mayweather. The reasoning behind my selections is that I feel Mayweather wants sparring partners who are counter punchers with a conservative punch out put and respectable power and timing, that may also try to walk him down whereas Canelo would benefit from sparring counter punchers who move, stay light on there feet and focus on speed. Both guys have quite similar styles so you could swap things round a lot. One of the main reasons why I said Mosely and Cotto for Canelo is that they have both boxed Mayweather in the past and may be able to pass on extra knowledge.
I don't see the need for any disrespect here. I have asked a boxing related question regarding preparation for an upcoming fight. If you don't like the thread you don't have to comment. Get some sad acts on here like.
The problem with preparing for Mayweather is that there is no other boxer that can replicate him. The same goes for Pacquaio. Those are the two most unique fighters in boxing. I'd say Wlad Klitschko is up there as well, but Wilder has potential to take his place in the future.
I agree completely with that. I think it can probably be disheartening getting in with guys like that when things that were working in sparring don't in the fight. As for Wilder I think he talented but he has been matched far too easily this far which could be his down fall for.
Floyd only spars to stay in shape and work on his own tactics. He does not need a fighter to resemble Alvarez. He will box him for 3 rounds have him figured out then pick Alvarez apart. I am shocked at how many people on here think Alvarez has any more than a chance at a lucky KO. The skill levels are A-C easy.
Why would you pick Broner for Mayweather when he is known as Floyd light. Surely Canelo should be sparring Broner. Btw, this is a ridiculous idea.
Mayweather is sparring with tough guys like Sammy Bastir of Ghana who is unbeaten has a similar style to Canelo and physically stronger than Canelo. Also another tough Ghanaian Kofi Jantuah amongst others.
Ashley and Ishe Smith would spar a few rounds with Mayweather as they have contests on the same bill but won't be his main sparring partners. Main sparring partners will be Middleweights and Super Middleweights.
Canelo has a similar style to Mayweather himself and I do not think Broner is all that much like Mayweather to be honest. Broner always to to walk forward, puts a lot of meat into his shots and doesn't move his feet much or keep a high work rate.
