Can anyone recommend some good ones that offer good wrist / thumb support and are quite a tight / snug fit?

    Cheers.

    Twins or even better Boon.

Leather, great quality and very durable. The big pro to these gloves is they are actually Muay Thai gloves so have a slightly more heavily reinforced wrist & thumb area to deal with the sting of kicks. Other than that no difference to boxing gloves, you'll have them for years.

Yeah, very snug and I don't have big hands. In fact the one draw back about them is they take a bit longer to wear in cos they are so snug and "stiff". The slight rigid snugness is different to say a much softer Reyes that moulds to your hand really well but lacks the strength and protection of a Twins or Boon. With a Velcro pair of Reyes my wrist sometimes rolls, but never with a Twins.
