here's some of the sparring session from the other night. This is my first time sparring in about four months, my coach was yelling at me about : Keeping my body more at a angle instead of squaring up, keeping my hands up, using my jab alot more, & i have noticed that i lean foward alot. I was posting to see if I could get anymore feedback from my boxing peers on the forum. Much Appreciated ( My first partner was 190;the same weight as me, and the second guy was 240lbs..)

Dont know which one you are but just started watching and the white guy needs toget in range a little more. Dont be afraid of being hit.

Good head movement wish i had reflexes like yours. Pretty much what you said already, occasionaly a little too square and use that jab more.

You looked pretty good in there. I'm guessing that your sparring partner was an mma guy? I would just say you gotta cut off the ring a bit better that way you can get your range.

ok, thanks for the input. But does having an angle with your body really help alot? Or is sqauring up just that bad?

That was my first time at that gym, so i dont know if the first guy was MMA or not. Does anyone think that jabbing and keeping an angle with my body will help me cut the ring off? I always had in mind that the jab kinda delays an opponents movement but idk it might just be me

Jab will definitely help in whatever you're doing. I would say not getting too excited when you're throwing, start cutting him off from side to side with the jab keeping him off balance. Then once you got him on the ropes or corner, do what you do.

Squaring up is just bad, the reason you angle your body is to give your opponent a smaller target

thanks for sharing, loved the song!

  11. I would of wanted more 2nd partner, the first guy was very reluctant to compete against you.

The first guy was actually throwing alot of punches, also during the 2nd round i started ripping hard shots to the body and by the end of the third round he told his coach he couldnt take anymore shots to the body lol. Then they put the big heavyweight in with me to finish the last 3 rounds so he came in the ring fresh.

dont run about a ring chasing someone like a fool man, stay on a 2 step make that **** chase you! you have a bad habit of just walking instead of properly mobilising yourself out of your stance.that right hand should be glued to your chin, and your head movement is predictable
