Extra brawling is never a bad thing. Will only make you stronger.

I think sparring at home is a brilliant idea. When I first started boxing many moons ago I was getting very little sparring at the gym, so I would always try to get my mates to spar.
What really annoyed me was that many of my friends wouldn’t spar with me. I think they were scared of being humiliated etc...I assured them it would be more like a game of tag, with the emphasis on technique, but they wouldn’t listen. The few lads I did get to spar were the opposite...constantly trying to take my head off with hayemakers while I was trying to box precisely.

One thing you should keep in mind though is that practice makes PERMANENT. If you practice something badly you will just become good at performing it badly. You can see the pros with bad habits they cant lose...it all starts at the beginning.

I'd say no, teaches bad habits and if you're good, you hurt your mates.

Not a good idea. If it's in your back garden with friends it's not "sparring".

Yeah I think sparring should be overseen by a coach.

Otherwise you will pick up habits that may work with your mate, but wont with a decent boxer.

If at least one of you or your mates is an experienced boxer. I have a friend who i spar with to be fair usually in the studio of a gym but its much more focussed on footwork and technique than anything else. noticing things in each others game
