Hi, i've been training thai boxing for about 2 years on and off, i recently started sparring full on and due to my lack of boxing defence ended up getting rocked a few times in sessions due to hard and even mid power punches. Would you say that I have some kind of mental problem to taking the punches; because I would feel the onslaught of punches hitting my face but just mentally - not as though they were going to KO me. :?

I've been getting private boxing coaching for a couple of months now because the instructors taught next to no defence and boxing ability in my thai boxing class

Start with your footwork, practicing moving around and being able to sidestep in all eight directions.

Then work on your jab and your front kick as leads, making sure to step in and out of punching range everytime you hit the banana bag, pads, etc.

For more advice, you need to download a muay thai instructional and follow the training routines perfectly.

learn to move your head, learn to guage punching range and kicking range, these are things your trainer cant really teach you. Only time in the ring will teach you. Practise parrying the punches. This is a start

  4. Experience definitely help that. im sure there will be good tips here but many problems are solved by dedicated training. it could be psychological if you say it is, but if from a lack of experience you might not be judging when flush punches land (hard or not) there's a good chance you are actually getting dazed from that. More experience, practice distance, rolling/slipping more more sparring. Casually practice punches in a mirror, look for easy shots that you could land on yourself and correct it.
