Ok so when you spar people who are not at your skill level do you try to match their level. Or do you box them like you would someone as good as you?
Depends...if its someone brand new or young it may be best to let them build up their confidence and work...still I wouldn't just act like a pudz. I like to just try to work on certain things...take your power off your shots,...practice your defense... You don't want to do things "badly" cause you fight how you train..and if you train doing bad habits you will use them in fights.
It depends on how much worse they are, how big they are, and their temperament. If it's a small guy I'll usually just jab at him and drop right hands to his body. Nothing hard. If he's REAL small (like a kid) I'll just walk into him and paw with a jab. Just constant pressure on him. That way he gets a workout and gets to land a lot of solid punches without getting hurt. He learns to counter a jab too, which is a big thing for new guys to learn. If he's a big dude or a real high energy type I usually go hard at first because let's face it, I don't want to get hurt. Once he has enough respect to keep from teeing off on me I ease up and work on my movement and defense, basically just trying to cut the ring off and not take punches. This way he can work on what he wants to without taking any stupid chances just because I'm smaller. I'll still try to hit him, but mainly just speed and combinations rather than power. I always make a point to really whack the guy in the first few seconds though.
I usually work on my defense, while still throwing a few fast punches so they remember to keep their hands up
:huhWhats the point of that I dont understand, it doesnt help you and certainly doesnt help the opponent.
It helps me de stress by whooping a tomato can and practicing my entire full repotouire and back catalogue of flashy shots smooth moves and thunder punches. And it helps the tomato can understand his limitations. And the kids and onlookers enjoy the spectacle. Seeing a tomato can destroyed and dispatched with flair and panash:good Most importantly is me and my enjoyment of embaressing and destroying totally clueless tomato cans especially if there are female onlookers present, in which case i may chose to put them away inside a round:happy. Just because i can and i enjoy it and others enjoy it
Depends. Sometimes I let them box and sometimes I bring some (controlled) heat, they need to learn to cope with that as well.
You sound like a tomato can. We should box. Whats wrong with that? I just really enjoy wasting tomato cans
:think and theres me thinking sparring was to develop both boxers skills so they can improve rather than beating up someone at a lower level just to get a ride.:yikes
