I dont hit them too hard and slow it down a bit and mostly work on slips and counters and work on something new Ive been working on that I wouldnt try with someone better than me. I'll sometimes just keep throwing lazy jabs fairly predictably until they counter so they can work on countering the jab. After once or twice I'll make them less predictable and a bit faster. I dont woop "the tomato can" cuz I want them to keep at it and continue to spar with me. The new guys are good for working on new moves to add to your repotoire and getting them smooth and then building up to using them on better people. Of course its not very often we have a new guy sparring at our gym but thats how I go about it when I do spar a new guy. And of course if theyre trying to tee off on me I will get their respect, some people think they'll be world beaters coming in.
:think Borderline...... Lets see how you feel after a couple of weeks bud? :rofl What did you think of my sparring video?
This is genuinely what i do at my gym. So if you are a tomato can dont spar with me simple. Because i have zero tolerance. The weaker the tomato can, the worse i beat them A favourite trick of mine is to pretend the tomato can has hurt me, then when his confidence grows and he tries to put combos together, i put his lights out suddenly. The kids love this. Body shots are good for torturing tomato cans with:happy
I enjoyed reading that, bit of craic! On a serious note, just don't pick up bad habits fighting lesser guys. I got into the habit of using the shoulder role, dropping my hands and trying to slip everything. It creeps into you game and before you know it your doing it against a serious opponent.
