pacquiao lifted weights... heavyweights dont make you slower, its a myth but you're a beginner i suggest you forget about all that and just stick to your boxing workouts for now.
exactly do you think alex ariza got hired just because roach likes him? or ronnie shields hired billy caldwell because he lives near the gym?
a prime example is Mike Tyson after 94 when he started heavylifting, he was not as fast as he was before. and as far as the conditioning, i meant a conditioning coach as far as lifting weights to get stronger in boxing, it hasnt made anyone stronger as far as punching power, maybe being able to take punches better to the body i would say yes. and finally just because im new to boxing workouts does not mean im new to the sport of boxing
no he didn't tyson was doing bodybuilding workouts and isolating muscles, he was doing 10-15 reps as shown on the build up to the lewis fight. you're clueless.
you mean lennox lewis? dumb ass thats like 10 yrs after 94 and he was slow as hell and had no reflexes at all, not to mention shot. so who's ****in clueless now?
Explosive strength is built from using both plyometrics and ballistic lifts at 50% -70% of your 1rm capacity and explosive strength needs a foundation of maximal strength to draw from. !-5lbs will do nothing for anyone. Did you even read my links or do any of your own research? If the olympic boxing team lift heavy than i'm more inclined to trust their coaches than your opinion from 7 months of boxing training. As people have said anyone that knows anything about boxing conditioning will incorporate weights into their routines if they want a competitive edge.
Tyson was training for hypertrophy, you can tell he got into it in the joint because he was huge when he came out. Training for strength and training for size are done completely differently, if you train for bulk than you will most likely lose speed. Isolating muscles is not the way to go but any reputable coach will advise using weights properly. Also it was 8 yrs and the point still stands tyson got into bodybuilding in prison. And again bodybuilding is not strength training.
dude i have used the **** myself and they have made me hella faster, have you even used any of this **** that you are backing up so much!!???:blood
