You must have been watching the wrong fighter then

 

Valero was the one chasing shadows and plodding. Morales was the one showing class movement and counter punching.

 

Post it please so I can see the one where valero does not handle him with ease

Good little watch that, porter looking the busier as usual but getting tagged far to often. Thurman will knock him out late

 

I remember sparring a certain individual and getting the better of him but when we fought for real the following year he boxed my head off before stopping me in the 4th.
The point is when I sparred him he was only in his 3rd day of training for a fight and wasn't in great shape, wasn't very sharp and I was in good shape. When we fought for real he was obviously levels about me.
Sparring can sometimes be an indicator of how a fight between the two would go, but there are so many variables to take into consideration, as in my case, that too much shouldn't be read into sparring either, especially when the fighters are holding back

 

*******s. Apparently he only did about 4 rounds of light sparring with Tyson.

 

I'm from Newcastle and have met McCrory a few times and Tyson once. McCrory from what I am told had a very savvy manager they went out to spar Mike Tyson asked for it to be light they only did about 4 rounds but the footage of it got everywhere.

When Tyson came to Newcastle he apparently didn't even recognise McCrory because he only had a light spar with him once despite all of these stories.

You just have to watch footage of Tyson when he was young n McCrory in his prime to see they were levels apart.

 

Interesting...did the fact that you had got the better of him in sparring negatively affect the fight? Did he surprise you with his improvement?

 

What suprised me most when we fought was the power in his punches. He was obviously holding back when we sparred.
He was also a lot sharper when we fought and in good shape. I was in great shape myself and carrying no injuries so no excuses. I lost to the better fighter.

 

Thanks for that. I'm sure many a fighter gets over confident after a good sparring session.

Yeah, heard that. He punched him on the back of the head. Must have thought Whyte was his missus. Whyte went to take his gloves off to sort it and Dereck ran. Also, Whyte has put Chisora down loads of times in sparring according to Spencer Fearon etc.
