i havent had it yet but usually if someones hurt they do get pulled out one lad wanted to spar with a broken nose and when it was hit you could tell he was in pain so was pulled out. usually in sparring once someone's like that you lay off them to let them recover. There your team mates at the end of the day and it's not going to help you learn if every time they spar you they are afraid.
i know yeah just a slight nod with a smile i always think in the back of my head "ill get you back dont worry" lol the other week i got too cocky cause had a really good sparring session and in the last round got tagged with a good right because i dropped my hands. so when i went to throw back my coach said end of sparring, the other lad was laughing cause he knew id get him back the lil ******* haha
Well its a bummer, the boys were fighting the weekend so they got ring time instead and i got to work out on the bags. So ill either be sparring wednesday night or next monday, but still the guy im most likely sparring against is about 2 years older, 2 inches shorter but is faster and probably stronger too but im sure ill handle him with my size alone.
Yeah exactly, i werent sparring that night but still we had to punch the bags continuously without stopping, punching more than once a second so it was tiring and he kept cheering me on saying GO ON LAD, KEEP WHACKING IT! NOT LONG TO GO NOW! even tho it was like another 2 minutes to go and i was exhausted ( thats why im starting going to the gym twice a week now ) but still because of that little push, I kept hitting it and my trainer was a little bit impressed at the tempo i was keeping and when i hit the bag, you could hear it loud. Finally worked out my stance tho and good news folks im orthodox! ( but i still go southpaw cos i can jab rly hard with my right. )
Well for one ive fought before. When your hit full blast with a truncheon in the face and dont fall down your hardly Amir Khan
That's a totally different thing from taking a punch to the chin that you don't see coming, but it doesn't really matter. The way you've been posting is asif you're going to fight Mike Tyson. It's just sparring; tell the guy that you're new so he can take that into account. Sparring is to learn boxing, footwork, apply technique, not to get your head knocked off. And don't go swing for the fences if he doesn't (which, if he isn't an *******, he won't). Chances are you'll hit nothing but air and gloves the first time, but don't let that make you desperate or frustrated. Keep technique and speed first, don't worry about power. It's very annoying for your sparring partner when he's going easy on you and showing you things, when you throw windmill punches. Just some friendly advice. :good
Sorry mate if i gave ya the wrong impression but im rly excited about sparring and thing is i dont like it easy, cos for me the harder it is the more i enjoy myself and thats why i wanna box. I loved fighting growing up even though it wasnt rly legal but still the atmosphere i get at the gym is even better. also i dont throw windmill punches, i jab and hook. I want this guy to fight me like he would an opponent cos for me its the only way ill learn.
If an experienced guy treats you like an opponent you will get knocked the **** out, break your nose or jaw, stuff like that. Your enthusiasm is great, but I'm having a hard time not saying negative things.
Say as many negatvie things as you want mate. I had a training session tonight and altho it wernt with one of the more "cleaner" fighters it was still a learning curb. and as for getting KTFO i think i stood up there pretty well even tho he was hitting me with low blows.....and we wernt sparring. We were working on the pads and instead of aiming for the target he hit my head, chin chest with big shots constantly which i took after running a mile, skipping blah blah blah pretty well, still stood up no problem and he punched himself out so i jabbed a few times slowly so he could work on defense and we swapped so i was punching and when he jabbed he jabbed fast before i punched and i got caught in the eye with the plastic rim of the pad and my eye was cut open a little bit and thats the only time he hurt me and i stayed up ( we wernt wearing headguards before you ask ) then we swapped again and he hit me with another low blow and i lost it and headbutted him and the trainers stepped in sooooo yeah fun night. Still tho so much for me being KTFO with someone going flat out ( and it wernt even a sparring match! )
Also i know this guy supposedly on my team but the way he boxes is dirty as ****. And before i was a little "oh yay boxing" now ive gone against this guy ive got the motivation to push myself harder in the gym to rly show this guy up. Yeah my punches i need to work on cos they are sloppy, head movements getting better after i got caught with the plastic rim of the pad in my eye so ive learned from that and i need to work on stamina in the gym cos i only go 2 nights a week. But overall give me till next year and ill be in shape to box pretty good i hope anyways. Oh yeah and one more thing, Eoan Quigg aint got **** on me! (catch phrase of mine.......haha funny stuff)
