Started up serious training again last year and I spar bout twice a week and been doing so for months now...But some days i have NO gas in the tank when I head to the gym. None. Lately its been more and more the case with busier days at work... Was tired as **** today when i left work, did some sparring and was exhausted after 2 rounds. In fact I cant remember the last time I sparred where I actually felt full of energy. Trying to train for some upcoming fights but my fatigue is just becoming a thorn in my side and bothering me quite a bit. I'm doing all the roadwork, burpees, jump rope etc...On paper I'm doing everything that needs to be done to have top conditioning but the post-work fatigue seems to cancel all that out. Anyone else experiencing this and if so what are you doing to revive yourself after the work day? Caffeine don't work for me. Somethings got to give here...I'm not confident in my readiness at all when I'm feeling this fatigued in the gym. I'm on the verge of stopping the gym altogether.
If you're working hard all day and training you might need 8-8.5. Try to get more rest and see if that helps.
it also depends what you do for a living--if you work construction and lift heavy **** all day of course you gonnna be tired
power naps if you can, sleep 30 mins before hitting the gym, eat more maybe for good energy, caffein increases energy for a while but also creates a come down effect that will make you more tired, i know the feeling work/training/social obligation/ ect.. it all adds up...its a ***** i sometimes too want to give up...but never happens =)
sleep,nutrition,social/private ambiance-and of course your work. all that influences your performance. since you `re not a pro (which i assume) you dont have to worry about.
it happens mate, just chalk it down to bad luck, i was **** today, i gassed and broke my nose, think about the next session you cant peak everyday, take three days off and get back to your routine fresh and with your head on.
I've gone back to two a days a couple months ago and I feel great. Im, in college right and I work Mon-Fri, 12 till 4 at a gym. But when I wake up (normally around 7) I either go for a 3 mile run or go to the gym and lift. Then in the evening I either go to fight class, a boxing class, or a 3 mile run again. I spar about twice a week right before classes, normally about 4 rounds. Its painful but I get through and I feel great after I finish the days workouts. I always get 8 hours of sleep (sometime 9) and I normally eat a carb before I work out. Not caffeine, I never do caffeine, not even soda's. Then every Saturday I take off and do jack ****... Ill maybe do errands, school or almost always watch fights with a few friends.
I hear that. Being gassed in any other sport is no sweat off your back, but in boxing its a different story! Not only can't you do what you want to do but your opponent is doing more to you in return. Conditioning is the end all most important thing in boxing because you can't fight and sometimes can't even protect yourself acceptably if your tank is empty. I've been trying to work on more things I want to improve and polish and the last few sessions I found myself so fatigued that I didn't really get to do what I wanted. Its really frustrating and aggravating me. Right, caffeine late in the day actually makes me more tired. Really, I've found that power naps is one of the very few things that helps. I used to do that before training, sleep on this couch in the back room. Although they moved the couch I need to just bring a pillow to the job and try and get some shuteye on the floor in an empty office. Gonna have to try that again, thanks.
when boxing i was and still am in constriction always had good rest very important, ate lots of poridge, bananas, pasta, sports nutrition energy drinks with lactic acid buffers etc, but you are always going have **** days, hope this helps, good luck

You think about your nutrients? I know Clinton Woods had the some problem about getting tired easily. Maybe this article will open some eyes? http://www.internettradebureau.com/article/what-gives-you-energy-a928.html
