They were supposed to fight in 1998, but Arum offered Quartey a fight with DLH and Quartey pulled out of the Trinidad fight to fight DLH.

Trinidad's opposition for most of his reign at 147 was indeed rather weak.

Not really his fault, more like Don King kept feeding him softies. Trinidad sued and tried to get out of the contract so he could get bigger fights.

    100% FALSE,

Quartey was signed and set to fight Trinidad, and TITO pulled out of the fight becuase he had contract issues with Don King.

At that time Nobody wanted to fight Ike, DLH is the only man who gave this man a shot

It was DLH who was looking to fight Norris right after the MUllings fight!

Blocker was basically shot when he fought Trinidad.

1994 was a good year for Trinidad. Camacho was considerably past his prime, but Carr and Campas were undefeated contenders. But from 1995 through 1998, too many soft opponents that King fed Tito. Then in 1999-on, Tito was getting the bigger and better fights (DLH, Reid, Vargas, Joppy, Hopknis, etc...). K

King underpromoted him for awhile IMO.

Whitaker was old as hell and Norris was old also. His resume is weak at 147 though...

Well, there was a big mess with the contracts with AB and Main Events with Quartey.

You can find articles indicating that Norris might fight either Trinidad or De La Hoya around 1997-ish.

The bottom line is that we didn't get to see him fight either of them. :?

I tend to believe that individuals who diss Trinidad's resume at 147 are one of two things.

A huge De La Hoya fan or some one who was not an avid boxing fan at the time.

Yeah they just gave him a former P4P #1 fighter in the world who had never CONVINCINGLY been beaten.

And undefeated Mexican with 54 wins and 52 knockouts, who just so happened to almost knock out John Duddy at middleweight last year as Tito's 23 professional bout.

Another fighter who's only convincing loss at the time was to the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez as Tito's 22nd fight.

And the softies for his next three bouts had a combined record of 100-3

That kills me when people say dumb **** like well Oba Carr was a 140 pounder so Tito beating him dont mean ****, but Ike also fought Carr and that fight went to decision, so I guess Ike should'nt get any credit for his won over Carr also.
