Facts are pesky things which you have no problems picking and choosing to suit your arguments.

For instance, you're adamant that Tito was the first guy to "really"
beat DLH because there was controversy in that fight but flagrantly refuse to mention the controversial nature of Tito's "win" over DLH.

I'm a Tito fan but have no problems admitting that his "reign" @147
    is a bit overrated.

Not putting the blame on TIto for not fighting guys like Quartey and LOpez but there was a period between 1995-1998 during which he should have fought these guys since he didn't really beat anyone of substance during that time!

It is not Tito's fault that Pernell had drug problems.

And just for your information it was a 4 month layoff.

Pernell had a bout in between that he won, but was later changed to a no contest.

If a 4 month layoff is gigantic, then todays fighters must be pathetically prepared for their bouts.

    That's kind of what I expected.

By the way check out Rivera vs. Whitaker, that was a clear "gift" for Sweet Pea that everyone seems to sweep under the rug when discussing "whitaker got robbed".

IMO the first of the 3 legit loses on Whitaker's record!

    LOL.

You picked the wrong person to bring up Floyd with. It is well known on this site that I am one of his biggest supporters here.

Floyds resume is extremely solid except for a short two year period when he was frozen out of a bout with Cotto and Hatton at 140. If Hatton had had the balls to fight Floyd at 140, then Floyd would have been the lineal champion in 4 divisions, something that has never been done before. That said, if the divisions today existed in years past it would have been accomplished before.

Tito's resume at 147 is not the greatest, but to suggest that he ducked anyone while he was there is ludicrous. Whittaker had a particular distaste for De La Hoya and wanted that bout more. He went on to take on basically the most formidable opponent available at 154 and 160, so to suggest he was ducking people at 147 is a bit much.

I'm a huge De La Hoya fan and I think that anyone who question's Tito's resume at 147 is full of ****. He destroyed everyone that was put in front of him until he fought Oscar. Can't ask for much more than that.

    Who hurt Tito?

Please tell me one fighter at 147 that you thought hurt Trinidad.

Vargas had already beaten Winky Wright, even though that was a close fight, so calling him green is an asinine statement on your part.

And you criticize Tito for fighting Vargas with 19 fights but wanted Tito to fight Pernell Whittaker when he had 25 or less fights? Pick a side of the fence and stay on it. You can't have it both ways.

Trinidad was geniunely hurt early on in his career against Cortes. The most "hurt" he was at 147 other than that was Lueshing, but I still wouldn't say he was really hurt. Just that it was a little more serious than the other flash KDs.

But where were the real offers on the table from guys like Whitaker, DLH, and Lopez early on?

Trinidad was involved in a lawsuit with King when he was trying to get bigger fights. It wasn't like Trinidad was saying to King "give me guys like Rodney Moore and Ray Lovato".

Thats true regarding Cortes, and I officially acknowledge you as a welcome addition to ESB, since it seems I've been gone since you've joined, which admittedly has been a while.

Still, Tito couldnt even grow chin hair at that point.

    But good call.

Edit: Wait. Member since 2005. Hmmmm. New name? I'm confused.
