Hello, Rocky Marciano, Ezzard Charles, Jersey Joe Walcott, and others get interviewed. Marciano and Charles show off their training camps before their first fight and Walcott makes his predication for the fight. Thought I'd share with the board. This content is protected Enjoy!
whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa what did you find here my friend?! Just watched it: Good stuff! First time I've seen it, thank you for posting. Loved the Walcott appearance at the end.
The video shows why Rocky was such a 1950s icon in the US, from blue collar family, served his country in Army, married guy who says missing wife and child, loved his mom and father, had best buddy in his training camp. The white boy who worked hard and made good by winning the title, even got Jersey Joe praising him as a 'clean' fighter.
Yes, that pumpkin on top of his shoulders is SHW, bigger than Valuev. His body is a middleweight's at best.
Fantastic! Rocky was a natural on TV. Personable and knowledgable. I'm sure he would have been a hit as a color man in broadcasts had he lived a longer. Charles was a sharp guy, and his wife who was not show was very easy on the eyes.
I love seeing clips like this, it's so much a different era compared to nowadays. Fighters seemed to have that more respect for each other. And every body knew who the heavy weight champ was. Non of this wba, wbo, ibf, wbc etc crap.
, Rocky looks tiny ,except for his forearms. Rocky always came across as a real regular, modest guy. Ezz's trainer reminds me of the late Greg Page! Jake Mintz was a one- time manager of Charley Burley. Mutual respect from two fine men. Great find!
