I was watching some interviews today and just rolling with laughter. Both these guys are smart but the way they talk you'd think they were raised by wolves. It's incredible how verbally inept they are. I'm a fan of both so don't bother jumping up in defense, this is all just good clean fun. I was listening to one of FMJ's interview with Brian Kenny pre JMM (I put a part of it up below, but it's not in that part) and he calls Maglinaggi (sp?) Maginali. FMS in 24/7 overtime calls him Magginagi:rofl. Obviously, very bad, but you can notice that jr. came closer, so there is progress down the line. Ten generations down I'm sure the kids will talk straight. One other thing you'll notice with both guys is that they often repeat sentences, sometimes more than once. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sfM0PxaD3c[/ame] @ 3:22 "A belt don't make me! A belt don't make me!" @ 4:43 "Your job don't pay like my job. Your job don't pay like my job." And then here's sr. repeating his sentences: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okdT5Eef-pc[/ame] @ 8:43 "He pay at you less than I aksed him for! He pay at you less than I aksed him for!" Sometimes they say things that don't make any sense. @ 3:32 of the Brain Kenny interview: "Shane Mosley is the only guy I know. Guess what, he's not a PPV attraction." :huh Shane is the only guy he knows??? @ 4:31 of the same interview: "You [Kenny] a man of many things but you a master of nothing." :huh
Well, Rog has some missing teeth, so I guess he has an excuse, but my feeling is he'd talk the same with a perfect set. That said, he's a much better talker than either of the Folyds.
Doesn't he make any money from training Floyd Jr? You'd think he would take his ass to the dentist and grab some implants or a bridge or SOMETHING.
There's nothing vain about having your 2 front teeth lol. What the hell does he do with a corn on the cobb??
I noticed these things too. But the conversations was serious so I didn't think anything of it. But now that you pointed them out they are indeed funny. Repeating sentences or words means their chain of thought isn't finish or they forgot what they are trying to say and is looking for it. They seem to try to make their words poetic or "deep" in a way but come off sounding bad instead.
Its not like Maglinaggi is a superstar. He has a difficult last name. Imagine how Pacquiao was pronounced by people before he became a household name. Their not the most educated or articulate people, but they seem happy with themselves.
I love Floyds interviews with Kenny. Kenny says just enough to get him riled up and pissed off and then backs off smiling :rofl
Wow, I've never seen that video before (Roach and Sr). When they were arguing about who was the better trainer for Oscar, it was like arguing who was the better boyfriend for the girl.
Both Floyd's are fun to listen to, but Roger is on a whole different level... he cracks me up! Check him out... funniest interview ever! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0SrhKfJlqg[/ame]
I'm not bashing, they are very successful and happy and according to their objectives in life they have exceeded greatly. Furthermore I'm a HUGE FMS fan, he's such an entertaining character. There was a thread recently about who's death in the boxing world would make you sad and sr.'s death would **** me up quite good, because he's, at 57 or smth. a big kid. You look at those 24/7 episodes with Hatton Pac and it's a constant festival with that guy. It's fun central. As for Maliggnagi. No, he's not a superstar, but they are in boxing and have heard the name a gazillion times. And they know they misspronounced it but they just keep going because they also know they wouldn't get it right if they tried ten more times. Yeah, he has fun with him.
This reminded me of another mayweather quirk, how Roger swings his head from side to side when he talks.
