I live in a little ranch and i was wondering which boxing bag should i get to use while im at home. I go to the gym and use all four. But which one would be better to practice?

I am thinking the speed bag because it is the cheapest and also the hardest to control, so it is better to have it at home to be able to practice and improve my hand speed.

Also how does the speed bag exactly improve hand speed? Thanks

EDIT: Never mind, I thought double end bag meant a different type of bag.

    all 3 serve different purposes

    1-Speed bag-hand eye coordination
    2-double end bag-reflexes
    3-heavy bag-power and combos

I've got a heavy bag and love it. Speed bag is next.

If you have ever seen somebody hit the speed bag for a round while blindfolded, you get kind of doubtful about how it helps hand-eye coordination. Doesn't do much for hand speed either. The way you usually see people hit it, it doesn't do much for you. But there are ways of hitting it that help with punching accuracy, as long as you throw your punches properly.

I have a combination speed bag, double end bag and heavy bag set-up at home by Everlast. I find all three helpful.

I just moved and maybe this will help.

I turned my basement in my old home into a finished boxing gym.

Now that I've just moved to a smaller home the first bag I mounted in my garage (my new boxing gym) was my heavy bag.

A week later I mounted the speed bag.

Maybe, when I get the energy back from moving, I'll hang the double end bag.

oh and the speed bag is useless imo except for building arm endurance which you can use the double-end bag and heavy bag for.

It's hard picking between the two because the double-end bag helps your simulate an opponent much better and perfect timing and distance. The heavybag I feel is more versatile though

Since you gave me that tip, I'll give you a tip with the speed bag.

And I don't even like giving tips.

It depends on the platform for the speed bag, when it's adjustable, you should adjust it to be at different heights, so you can adjust to fighting different opponents.

To be a complete boxer, you need to learn to fight tall and fight short.

The key to working the speed bag is to treat it as if you're boxing an opponent.

In addition to that, a lot of old timers used the back hand. When you fight an opponent with an opposite stance, the back hand is especially useful at fending off their lead punch.

The speed bag does have its place, but I agree that it's secondary to the heavy bag, which is the most important bag in the gym.
