Timing beats speed, definitely. but your comparison is unfair.

    Speed vs Power AND Timing?

Youtubbe Donald Curry vs Nino La Rocca.

Nino has to be one of the fastest of all time until The Cobra struck !!!

    Good fight!

Two keys in the ring is timing and distance !

Reading this thread...Im convinced that 90% of the mufuggers on here are mma fans that dont know chit about boxing.

    So far Ive read...

    Speed is overrated

    Judah is unskilled

    and the best one...

some dunce actually said all you need is an "iron chin",whatever the hell that is to over come a speed deficit lol

if a fighters got a good chin and nothing else, and hes in with a faster guy, hes just gonna get the chit beat out of him until hes stopped. This aint no Rocky movie smdh

It has long been proven that you're a f ucking idiot who doesn't know anything about boxing, and has never set foot in a ring, cos you're too fat and pathetic to do so.

Speed kills man. Your hands can't hit what your eyes can't see. You get that speed advantage and you can hit without being hit. It's as good as being taller with reach advantage all of the time. Maybe better, because then people can't get inside and work you over. Strength is the third most important thing, after chin and speed. All the skill and talent in the world won't help a fighter without any whiskers who goes down at the first punch. And you can hit like Foreman, but if you never land it doesn't matter.

What happens when the opponent times you?

Nothing good. But I still maintain that if the speed difference is too much to handle you might as well leave your watch outside the ring for all the good it will do you.

You can be as fast as you want, but if you're predictable, you'll get timed.

Tryin' to think of examples either way. I keep thinking of Pacquiao vs Rios for speed. Do you think Crawford vs Gamboa would be a good example of what you are talking about?

I mean if you throw at the same speed every time, you'll get timed eventually.

Speed is good when coupled with timing and or power. You get a guy that has that triple combination and you have an offensive dynamo!

You also have to have the ring IQ to go with the speed.
