"And now, for the fight itself. Once the bell rings there is a boxing axiom that while at times perceived as the dreaded “conventional wisdom” is one that history shows holds true, and that is: “speed kills.” Pacquiao will attempt to use his speed from the outset, setting a blistering pace and scoring with lightning fast

Combinations, while avoiding return fire from Hatton. Hatton meanwhile, will be attempting to come forward, pressing the attack, crowding the ever moving Pacquiao, hoping to force him into exchanges where the Hit Man can do damage. How Hatton goes about this may be the yardstick of his potential success or failure on this night. Ricky must not be preoccupied with landing shots to the head. He must be content to land as he can to the body in those moments when Pacquiao comes inside looking to land fast combinations. Hatton is a terrific body puncher and he must bring that talent to bear on Pacquiao if he has any hopes of success. Further, Hatton must not come straight in and straight up or he will be mere cannon fodder for Pacquiao’s pinpoint punches. The Hit Man must present angles to Pacquiao, making himself a difficult target and perhaps making Pac Man miss thus setting up the opportunity to “make him pay” as they say in boxing vernacular."

Speed Kills.. But not always. Hatton couldn't handle Mayweather's speed but what people fail to notice is that Mayweather also has power in those hands. Hatton will walk through Pacman's shots and land killer body blows to end the Pacman euphoria and become a true boxing legend!

Stupid prediction since Pac now has power in both hands even at 147. What Hatton has to do is make Pac fight of the backfoot. Pressure him, go to the body, **** even wrestle him. Distance will be his downfall since Pac lunges to get inside and quickly steps out. Speed wont mean anything if Hatton makes it a Hatton fight.

What hatton needs to do is fight an inside fight.
Keep the Pacman from moving, pressure and brawl him. If he can do this, he'll get Pac eventually. Pacman is no superman, he can be hurt.

Agree. the ropes is his best battle line. If he can bring the pac in the ropes and start pounding him with heavy body shots, I favor him to win this match.

The ropes is Pac's number one flaw. eg. vs larios (rnd 3), em I (rnd 6) odlh (1st rnd)

Agreed. Unfortunately It'll be ugly but thats what Hatton has to do.
If he tries to trade he'll get eaten.

It's Pacs accuracy from range that will give Hatton fits. Hatton can't allow Pacman room to box his fight he needs to get close and push him back. Once Pacman starts going backwards (something Pac has never done well) Hatton can look to change the angles and let the body shots go. Getting inside wont be easy though

He hasnt fought going backwards for some time now.

Roach has taught him how to move side to side and pivot away.

It will be a hard fight, so the Pac supporters here shouldnt be too confident.

But I think that Pacquiao has a better than 50-50 chance of winning this fight.

hatton's left hook wont connect because of manny's lateral movements...and what would he do when manny uses both fist to dictate the tempo

Totally agree mate and against his last 2 oponents who were really static it worked well.... even against JMM who isn't very quick on his feet. Hatton is quick on his feet and closes the ring off better than any active boxer i can think of. I'm with you completely mate. This fight is by no means an easy fight for Pac. In fact i think it is the hardest fight of Manny's career but i have him just shading it on a UD... but as i've said many a time. I wouldn't be surprised if Hatton can keep up with Manny and hurt him

Hatton doesn't cut off the ring, he follows you with his hands at his chest waiting to get to your body, a very obvious maneuver that any boxer-puncher/counter-puncher will notice, which is why he runs into so many jabs, and left hooks.....

and which is why Pacs gonna rip his face apart with his speedy 1-2's and combinations down the middle, while turning him with the right hook to keep him in the center of the ring

Hatton is indeed strong for a JWW, and has decent speed, but he wont be able to use it effectively because he comes in without jabbing, which is a huge mistake when you fight Pacman, cuzz it'll just get you knocked out, you need a strong active jab to trouble Pacman, which is something he doesn't have....

timing destroys speed, not a rush and hug technique, or a rush and mawl, which is why Pac was trouble by Morales, and JMM, and not fighters like Diaz or the DLH that showed up against Pac......face it, Hatton's tailor made for Pacman, it's obvious as ****

    no jab, no competition
