Nah, don't work that way. The medical exam is mandatory. If anything like a retinal tear is found, or the medical examiner finds a fighter unfit, the fighter cannot fight. Fighter has no say in the matter. So, in other words, Spence did not decide to pull out, he was forced out.

 

Agreed! I want to see Loma's surgery too, not some pic that could have been from his first surgery or someone else's arm. He could have paid a doctor off to say he did the surgery. I don’t trust these slimy boxers one bit. While we're at it, let's re-examine Holyfield's ear. I have been suspicious about that for a long time. You believe the doctor mentioned in the article is in on it? I would think if they are using his name to push this lie, he would come out say something different. At this point, it all comes down to the doctor. Is he credible, has he shown integrity up until this point? Has he had any shadey dealings in the past? If he checks out ok, then I believe the injury was real.

I always thought the "eye-gate" crap was just that - crap. That said, using Mauricio Sulaiman of all people as a character witness MAY not be the best of political moves.

It also helps that Spence doesn't have a detached retina, but a retina tear, which is the former's wimpy less effective younger brother.

 

Crazy to think that people are still going out there way to dispute an injury. What's done is done and we should all be thankful that Spence was able to receive treatment before having it damaged in the ring.

I need a statement from the doctor. Doctors aren't allowed to confirm the injury due to HIPAA. The W(e) B(e) C(rooked) issued a statement. Woohoo. The doctor can lose his license if he violates HIPAA or speaks on it in general without a release of information signed by Errol Spence. Yes, that includes challenging what is stated by the WBC.

Bottom line, you're wrong. Like another postr stated. All the haters will do is, constantly change the goal line and question the proof. Now the person claiming that the doctor's report is solid is not good enough, because he's untrustworthy. Then if the doctor comes out and says something, you'll just say he was paid off.
