Nobody schools Spence.. but Thurman might be able to outpoint him. He possesses enough power to make Spence respect him and a good timing. But, he may be vulnerable to body attacks (I still recall that Collazo fight), where Spence is good at, so for me it is a 50/50 fight. I wish it happens somewhere in 2018. In the meantime, I'd like to see Spence against Porter or Garcia, both will be interesting.

As far as Khan concerns, Spence would defeat him in the exact same way he demolished Algieri. Khan is a bit more skilled, but the body attacks would still wear him down, and he will be done by mid-rounds.

 

I'm just saying at the end of the day it wasn't Spence's speed or boxing skills that won him the fight. Spence is going to be around for a while probably, so it makes sense to take note of how he did in these fights as they could be somewhat of a predictor for fights down the road. Right now I've seen that he might have trouble with quick boxers who are smart and can counter-punch. No one else has the same skill set as Brook ATM, but someone someday will...

 

I beg to differ, it was everything he was as a fighter that night, which allowed him to be victorious. Sure, he has flaws but he is still young and will improve. No fighter is perfect but on that night he had the necessary skills and one more key ingredient, the heart of a champion.

 

Youre absolutely out of your mind! Thurman is easily a better boxer than Spence and Brook. Brook is terrible on the inside, somewhat flat footed, incapable of fighting off the back foot, punches with his arms and very little body, doesnt create angles and when he does its to move away instead of attacking and he couldnt keep the pace when Spence stepped up his production. Brook is strong as an ox, accurate with really good timing which is what helped him have success early. But once Spence figured him out Brook had no more tricks in his bag and was done.
Thurman can box off the back foot, can bang when he needs to, gives angles, throws combinations, punches with power, hand speed and although he loops his hooks he has enough speed, movement and timing that its hard for his opponents to exploit.

This. Khan has the hand speed to give Spence problems, but lacks the chin to survive when Spence connects.

 

I was not impressed with Spence at all. Where is his speed? Power? Defense? Spence was supposed to be the greatest welterweight in boxing history, no way......................Thurman will knock him out, Porter will beat him, I even give Khan a chance, at least in the first half of the fight. Khan is faster, has more power, but no chin...........Spence is not Ray Robinson, nor Leonard, Hearns, Duran, etc.
