How many buy's do you think and immediate rematch would do while the hype about this one is still hot? more or less than danny garcia?
This would be impressive and would show Spence is really picking up steam as a box office attraction. Kills the Crawford fight as Spence would never agree to a 50/50 split.
Shocked at that , those are great numbers as I had neither down as much of a draw. I wonder how Wilder / Ortiz will do now.
Bare in mind, that's the CEILING, not the floor. Spence-Crawford does maybe 400k at best. Pacquiao-Spence might do 550-600k, given that Thurman did 500k against Pacquiao. In that case though, the ceiling is being raised..but only because Pacquiao is the one raising it. What about when Spence faces a bum, or a fighter who isn't that well-known and doesn't have a profile? We're talking maybe 150-200k. That is NOT a PPV attraction. The price may be 3x higher in the US than in the UK, but lower it by 3x and I can guarantee the numbers will not be 3x higher. In fact, they won't even be 2x higher. You might get an extra 50-100k on top of that 300k, and that's in a country with 5x the potential audience compared to the UK. You also have to bare in mind that per person, the US population are richer than the UK population. Let's have a look at Brook vs Spence. That did 275k in the UK. So basically a tad lower than Spence did in the US. Say that it's true that if they did lower the price to £25 in the UK, and that it would mean 3x more people buying it. Then let's translate that into a country with 5x less people. So 350k in the US at best case..do the maths. It results in 210k in the UK!!! That's worse than Brook vs Spence if Spence vs Porter took place in the UK..
I remember when those Numbers were Flops now everyone celebrates, ppv is on its way out no doubt about it
