Spence surpassed Canelo in Live gate and ticket sells in 2020

    Spence live gate generated 2.6 and 14,508 tickets sold. While Canelo live gate generated 2.3 and 11,200 tickets sold. Plus this was in a pandemic. People wondering why Spence saying he wants to fight Crawford for 60/40. This is part of the reason.

    Canelo is harming himself on DAZN.

    Needs to get back to being a PPV fighter.

    What Canelo really needs to do is fight the best competition out there instead of cherry picking opponents.

    I'm actually really glad to hear this. They make Canelo out to be a god because he can sell tickets. Well, others can too. This is more an indictment of the level of Canelo's competition. I have no doubt if he chose to fight the best in the divisions instead of these paper champions he would surpass Spence but he didn't. He fought guys he knew he could beat, not the ones who are the best in the division. He ought to be fighting Benavidez, not Plant or some other less worthy competitor. If he can beat Benavidez, then let him fight Beterbiev. Let him fight the legitimate champions.

    Fighting at Texas stadium helps. Even with covid and distancing in place they could have easily pack 30k into the place.

    And how many of those tickets were compys?


    I struggle to see Spence being a bigger draw than Canelo

    Negative. Spence don't do excuses. It's Crawford who's in denial that Spence is the bigger draw.

    There is truth to that, but Spence is a fan favorite for sure, and still growing.
