How does this fight change your view, if at all, on where Mikey and Errol are on the P4P list?

Garcia has built a respectable case to be considered a top 10 P4P fighter. Spence is perhaps just on the edge of that (IMO)

If Spence beats Garcia.. he’s beat a great P4P fighter.. but Garcia is not a welterweight..

If Garcia beats Spence, what an accomplishment because many, myself included, think Spence is the real deal. To go up and beat a big WW would be a great statement.

Could Mikey break into top 5?
Could Spence break into top 10?

(If they aren’t already in them, in your list)

IMO Spence needs to beat world class fighters in his own weight division first to be even considered in P4P discussions. Algieri, Peterson and a weight-drained Brook don’t offer that.

Garcia on the other hand, given that he’d be a 5-weight world champion, would be top 5 P4P. Again, IMO.

Lol, something like that, Spence won’t get too much credit for that win, Garcia should fight Loma if he wants to climb up.

If Garcia beats Spence then he'll be the undisputed p4p number 1 boxer, lol at top 5... he's top 5 now until Inoue wins the bantamweight tournament.

    1. Canelo
    2. Lomachenko
    3. Crawford
    4. Usyk
    5. Garcia

Garcia would be anywhere from 1 to 4 depending on the manner of his victory.

Spence would remain in the top 10 somewhere.

If Garcia beats Spence, he goes to the top of the list in my book because there is a 99.9% chance of him losing.

    Good thread.

It depends a bit on the performance but I'd say a Spence win takes him a place or two up, into the top 10, while a Garcia win would take him easily into the top 5, in fact I'd tend to put him at #1 as that would easily be the best win any of the top p4p fighters have.

Spence is overall better than Linares due to being tougher, Crawford's best win is who?, and none of Usyk's opponents are quite that good nor did they have a massive size advantage on him. As for Canelo/GGG, both fights were very close and they are about the same size. A clear win over Spence a division or two up would be definitely more impressive.

Garcia wins: He ranks between 1-3.
Spence wins: He ranks between 8-10. Still.

Would not overreact if Spence wins. He is much bigger.

Who is Garcia’s best win? Broner? I thought he was garbage?

I guess Garcia is p4p based on the eye test and the fact that the p4p
Competition is currently very weak, but in terms of overall resume, it sucks.

If Mikey wins somehow, he will easily break into top 5 p4p.
If Spence wins, it won't change his p4p status much, I think.
