No real signs of damage to cotto. Cotto-clottey-Margarito-Mosley - all seemed to have shown themselves around similar levels. Yet when they all fought Pac, Pac dominated all of them, cotto was actually the toughest.

That tells you he was a level above those guys and the results show. Now if he beat the **** out of cotto and really struggled with the other 3, then the argument that cotto was drained makes more sense. But it’s just based on 0 evidence. The evidence in fact says otherwise, the fact that all those 4 was on even terms and Pac beat the other 3 good says that he really should beat cotto just as good.

Of course it’s not that simple but it’s a good indicator.

You equate Hearns tko loss to Leonard the same as that beating that Cotto took? They are not even in the same ballpark. Leonard took more of a beating than Hearns in that first fight. I am starting to wonder about your objectivity. lol

They were both exhausted could barely hold their boxing stance. Hearns gave so much his legs were like jello going into the championship rounds.

Hearns took a beating from arguably the best finisher the sport has ever seen.

You try being exhausted and then have Ray Leonard tee off with combos to the face and body. And then tell me it's not an ass kicking.

Ironically, after the loss all Hearns did was actually get better. Which destroys the theory that one tough fight ruins a fighter.

I actually agree that Pacquiaos Welterweight resume was carefully thought and orchestrated after the Cotto fight. He typically avoided the top big young WWs. It is what is. But for the Cotto fight that was an extremely game Cotto. He was the only fighter to ever go toe to toe with a prime Pacquiao. Granted he was the biggest fighter a prime Pac ever fought. Depending on if you say Pacs prime ended after the Cotto fight or after the Margarito fight. So that does play a part in it.

Hearns was more exhausted than hurt. After the referee stopped the fight, he immediately walked to his corner without any assistance. Cotto was literally bleeding from his eyes and took a hellacious beating. Margarito and his wraps beat the prime out of Cotto. I give Pac credit for the way he moved up in weight. It shows how special he was to cross as many weight classes as he did but I am not going to pretend that his opponents weren't carefully chosen. Paul Williams was trying to get a fight with Pac and I don't remember Pac or his team even saying his name.

Yep like I said I agree regarding Pacquiaos WW opposition. In the lower weights he would fight anybody anywhere. At WW he was more careful. He was just too small for the weight.

Yes I realize that Cotto took a beating from Margarito. It definitely took years off his prime. But often times you dont see the full effects until years later. What I saw in the Cotto fight was a very game Miguel Cotto. Maybe I saw something different than you. But Cotto looked highly on point against Pacquiao.

everyone seems to forget how pacs team kept using the "hes not a real welter" line to shut down talks vs certain fighters. thats why manny needed catch weights, remember?
"catch weights? we dont need no stinking catch weights"- mikey garcia

You mention all of the above, but not the fact that Spence's best wins are a faded Algieri and a Kell Brook who went up 2 weight classes to get his face shattered by Golovkin and then drained himself back down to face Spence?

    You're a goddamn moron. Truly.

Forget the weight limit, this old creepy POS wouldn't make the age limit — I'd be arrested for destroying a senior citizen.

Marquez wasn't smaller than Pac. In fact, he had a wider frame

lol Since you put it that way, the fight may not be competitive but the buildup to the fight would be worth paying for to me.
