That's a interesting fight to think about. I'm sure I'm in the minority with this one but I would take Prime Cotto over Spence but only slightly. I think that would be a really good fight. Regardless if Spence would beat him or not Cotto would push him to the limit that's for sure.
Cotto beats Spence soundly. I'm trying to think of something Spence does better than Cotto and I can't think of anything. Is he faster? I don't think so. Hits harder? I don't think so. Box better? No. Lest we forget, Cotto was pretty much the complete package. Could move and box. Great jab. Wicked body work. Beautiful combos. Maybe Spence is much bigger? Stronger? If that's the case maybe he can stop Cotto, but I doubt it. I think it's a great fight, but I favor Cotto to win a solid decision.
Yeah I agree Cotto in his prime was the real deal and I think he would pull off the win. I really liked the work early on from Cotto during the Pac fight in 2009. If he fights like that with Spence I feel like it would come down to who hurts who first and sets the tone for the rest of the fight IMO.
There's no "easy win" for either fighter. Get off that crap guys.... Cotto at 147 was a tough fight for anyone today at 147.
i have cotto on this one. he does everything better. only advantage i see spence having is size but cotto was built like a lil tank, compact. better boxer and harder puncher IMO.
