Cotto was a better boxer and stalker than Spence, one of the best boxers of this era. Cotto was an elite boxer, pre-prime, prime and even into his post-prime. Only 3 people really outboxed Cotto: Floyd, Canelo (size and post prime) and Austin Trout (size and post prime). His other losses Margarito (he totally outboxed twice and lost a war of attrition once) and Manny is simply Manny (no further explanation). The Ali fight I refuse to even mention. Cotto was as elite as someone can be without being considered an ATG. (I personally think he is but admit he comes up just short of it)

He would've beat on Errol Spence.

Disclaimer: yes I'm bias in favor of Cotto but I like Spence too. Cotto is a terrible matchup for him IMO.

Pacs team brought in Porter for sparring for his fight with Cotto because they thought Porter emulated Cottos style somewhat.

I mean..somewhat, height and build, strength and pressure and maybe similar power, but they are quite different.

Based on Spence-Porter, I’d lean towards Cotto. Cotto was a great boxer and could really scrap, I’m not sure Spence has the power to keep Spence off him.

Wouldn’t be the least but surprised if Spence beats him though. It’s hard to tell just how good Spence is atm.

More than one commenter thought beating Spence would be easy. The retired fighter often gets the benefit of the doubt. I think their closely matched. I was responding to multiple comments in one btw.

I’d lean towards Spence winning and at some point Miguel doing that backwards dance he’d do when he was hurt or in trouble.
