Spence won a clear close fight and if you think Pac/Crawford beats him off this

Tbh, this Welterweight division is overrated. Oscar Delahoya, Tito, Vernon, Prime Pac, Floyd, and Paul Williams would be undisputed in this era.

 

Porter is kind of made for Pac. If Pac was prime, I could see him Hattoning Porter. He's got the perfect style to get Hatton'd. But now, I don't know.

Crawford hasn't fought anyone so he's as untested as Spence was. Spence didn't look good though. He barely won that.

 

Nobody can beat Porter 8-4 as long as he’s not shot he will forever have 7-5 either way.. There’s the physicality factor in his style that would trouble every fighter in the division.. Manny is an ATG but this past prime version on Manny is not beating Porter convincingly same for Bud..

Let’s just embrace that witnessed a very good to great fight.. Overly criticizing Spence’s performance will further encourage fighters to avoid fighting opponents like Porter due to the ruggedness..

 

I would still pick Spence over Crawford. Porter's style is going to make anyone he fights look bad although he does leave himself open a lot and proved he had a concrete chin tonight. He took a devastating shot and barely touched the canvas.

Spence is way over rated. HE couldn't hurt and beat up Mikey and Porter ( Pacman's sparring toy) so he will lose to the Pacman badly and to Thurman UD.

Besides I don’t think the 2 are at all that comparable. Horn is 5’9 giving him that height advantage, fouling his way through the fight in his hometown with hometown refs and judges.

Porter is a tough guy who is more or less the same height as Pac. Aside from the workrate, I think porter is tailor made for Pac.

You’ll also see roach dismiss porter as a “sparring partner”, tells me how those rounds went down. Roach briefly coached Spence too and he held him in much higher regard.

A come forward style has always worked the worst against Pac, it’s like people forgot. That was basically ODLH, Hatton, cotto, Margarito style. Then they realised they couldn’t come forward so every fighter ran or shelled up, clottey, Rios, Mosley, mayweather, broner etc.

Then 1 guy fouls his way through a fight in his hometown and suddenly it’s back to Pac can’t fight going backwards. Lol.

Tell me how this is in any way similar to Porter? I don’t expect great boxing analytical minds here but:

Is porter gonna come in herky jerky with such reach advantage?

Is porter gonna throw some funny combo and then fal on top of Pac and lean on him? How well he do that when they’re the same height?

Is porter going to butt, headlock, elbow, trip Pac?

Does porter have hometown ref and judges?

I’m not following where you draw the similarities.

Porter would be open for pacs counters coming in and unlike horn can’t resort to falling on top of him. Porter is much more similar to Hatton than horn.

 

Canelo at 147 could probably unify as well, I think that Cotto would wash most of the welters and if no Floyd Marquez could unify easy work he would just need to get by manny
