Spence won a clear close fight and if you think Pac/Crawford beats him off this

Not sure about Pac, but I’d strongly favour Crawford over Spence.

What particular performance or fight by Crawford makes him the favorite to beat Spence? He clearly has skill but I haven't seen him prove a thing yet as far as being able to beat the other top welterweights. Unless Horn and Khan are considered the upper echelon.

It's clear. When the heat is turned up to maximum, Spence can't take it. He struggled against Brook coming forward, and he struggled against Porter doing the same. What happens when he comes against a 154lber who comes forward and swarms him like Porter? He gets knocked out, that's what.

And the other big issue for Spence is...movement. It's poor, really poor. He simply can't move around the ring enough, and can't get out of trouble. If he can't box and move properly, how on earth is he going to win decisions at 154? He'll be the smaller man at 154, so he'll need to rely on a box and move style, rather than the slow stance he currently uses.

He's gonna get drained at some point, and when he does..he's gonna have to move to 154, where he'll collide with reality. And reality will hit him, hard.

Many thanks to both fighters for putting on a great show for the fans. Very competitive with both fighters showing belief in themselves and a will to win. Shawn did better than I expected but I agreed with the 116 for spence score. For me this was Leonard / Duran I all over again with Spence showing that he can beat Porter in his own style and that made the fight closer than it could have been had Spence fought in a more suitable style.

Didn't see it live, watched it today:

    R.1 - Porter
    R.2 - Spence (close)
    R.3 - Spence
    R.4 - Porter
    R.5 - Spence (close)
    R.6 - Porter (close)
    R.7 - Porter
    R.8 - Spence
    R.9 - Porter
    R.10 - Spence (close)
    R.11 - Spence (10-8)
    R.12 - Spence (close)

    115-111 (7-5 + k/d) if my maths is right.

I thought the 11th was heading Porter's way until the k/d so it would've cost him a draw on my card, although not on 2 judges.

Spence is not the messiah, but he's a very big and powerful welterweight, maybe too big for Pacquiao but definitely not too good. Spence-Thurman is a good fight too, as is a Porter rematch.

Porter showed me something last night. He's a real dog with skill and quickness. This fight elevated both guys in my eyes

Great point and one that the new generation of boxing fans need to learn. It's not all about winning and losing and last nights fight clearly shows that a fighters stock can actually go up even in defeat. We see it everyday on this site, a fighter suffers a loss and they automatically become over rated, a bum or shot. Great fight and props to both men for laying it on the line and making boxing fans proud.
