These two fights are telling. The Brook fight is glossed over. People don't seem to remember the fight was dead even until Kell''s face broke again. And Spence, the big welterweight terror, was unable to hurt tiny Mikey Garcia. I like Spence, but he's a bit overrated.

Spence is only overrated compared to Bud, he simply out jabbed Brook who hasn`t been taught how to defend against the jab, Errol has improved since that bout just as Porter has improved since his loss to Brook.
Pretty much everyone picked Spence and expected an easier fight for him. Not an easy fight, but not this struggle. So yes, he's overrated. That's what overrated means. It doesn't mean he's not good.

I guess I'm the only that didn't think it'll be an easy fight which shows many here who pick an easy fight have memory lost and forgot that porter style makes mostly ever fighters he face look bad.
If a fighter has back to back performances that fall short of whats expected of him, in two of his biggest fights, then... yes, thats him having been overrated.
Spence is definitely overrated after last night. I expected a comfortable victory and he fell well short of that. He’s still a brilliant fighter but not quite what some people think he is. Crawford beats him for me.
I’m interested in how people think Buds approach would be in a Spence fight.. Brook and Porter are very big and physically strong WWs. I doubt but would stick his head in Errol’s chest the whole fight and highly doubt he would be able to push Errol back.. I see Errol vs Bud being a tactical fight which in my eyes is 50/50.. I love Bud and Errol but Bud has to prove to me at WW that the Benavides performance was a fluke.. No way should a guy who clearly had one leg should have lasted to the 12 rd vs Bud
He lasted until the 12th round because Crawford was punishing his punk ass for getting in the middle of a video he was doing. He was never in the fight, got face planted in the 11th and the referee stopped him from getting KOed in the 12th. Crawford will befuddle Spence because, unlike Brook and Porter, he won't stand right in front of him. His foot movement and ability to counter punch will beat Spence. Hell Spence could not stop Mikey or Porter who stood right in front of him to be hit. He does not hit hard enough to keep a really good welterweight honest. He will be consistently be swinging at where Crawford was and not where he is
Spence won me over in the respect department for fighting Brook in the UK and likewise Brook got respect as many expected him to vacate and move up. Since then however,through no fault of his own he hasn't faced anyone to show his worth.Now after Mikey and Porter he's shown us he's not someone that everyone needs to avoid and I don't expect him to knockout Lego hair either.
