Spike v Lemieux...what y’all think??

Could this be the first fight in history where a draw is made by two people ko img each other at the same time .

 

Lemieux via heart pounding KO victory in early to mid rounds.

Spike isn’t up to this

 

Lemieux = the more gifted athlete, with a better work rate but he's a mental midget.
Spike= the more technically correct and cerebral fighter but he has slower hands and feet.

Very good match up. I can imagine 1000s of different out comes.

I will still be surprised if it goes the distance.

I think Lemieux will come out with bad intentions and will throw the kitchen sink.
Lemieux is the quicker fighter so I would favour him to land first in a shoot out.
I think Spike needs to be wary early on, but he still needs to make Lemiuex work.

If Spike does f all, and just lets Lemieux tee off he might get Stevens'd.
Spike should just concentrate on the jab early doors and batter Lemmy with it.

Lemmy isnt hard to find, especially with a jab.

 

Lemieux in 5 or under.

 

Assuming Lemmy has made weight without too many issue she should iron Spike out. Spike is right in saying Lemieux is a one trick pony but that one trick is better than anything Spike has IMO. He won't be able to nullify him with the jab like GGG did and he cannot dance around all night like Saunders did.

I think it's a fun fight though. If Lemieux hasn't worked hard in training then Spike without a doubt has a shot, I just don't particularly rate him

 

Like so much of life this comes down to timing. After bjs lemmy had another fight that went the distance v a barely known guy for an alpha belt and he didn't get that guy out of there. I've not seen it but apparently it was a one sided fight but he was over weight for that fight and he didn't look great on the scales v bjs.

I'm not huge on spike...ultra basic with a bit of pop but if he can keep lemmy from landing his power shots he doesn't have a lot else to worry about. Lemmy has had a few hard fights maybe there isn't much left in the tank.

 

not really a close fight imo. yes, Lemieux is beatable if you do a bjs and run circles around him. stand in front of him and trade..….you´re going to the Hospital. just ask curtis stevens.

spike is at best a b-Level fighter who is more gimmik than contender. look for Lemieux to hurt him.

hard to say, DL is showing signs of this game taking its effect on him. His resistance aint as good as it once was.

Spike has heavy hands but Spike also tends to stay in the pocket and is there to be hit and there is one thing DL wont lose, he can bang.

I think it will be a very exciting fight that wont go the distance. I have changed my mind three times whilst writing this post as to who will win!

 

Absolutely. Plus no one should slug with Lemmy. Spike isn't that tough either.

 

Two things that do really matter in boxing are making weight and form.

I don't think it's a coincidence that since struggling to make weight Lemieux's performances have gotten worse. IMO BJS could of stopped him as he clearly had him hurt a few times, but sensibly played it safe.

Spike on the other hand is on an upwards curve, he has definitely improved since the Eubank fight and his hands are quicker then before.

Was expecting a better price on Spike, but the last thing you want when struggling at the weight, is fighting a pressure fighter.

I'll stick my neck on the line and say Spike for this one.

 

Spike ain't no Saunders!! He's a plodder. His chin and moustache will be knocked into the sky.

 

Never really rated spike he did well to come back from the cej defeat tho but think lemuiex has 1 more big win then he will get fed to Canelo that's what golden boy want anyway

 

I favour lemmy to get spike out of there before rd 10.
I just don't think spike has quite got whats necessary to take a W
I'm quite looking forward to this. It will be interesting to see if spike comes in with a game plan.
