told ya thats disgraceful... well done to anyone that put money on the mundine fight, son retire your belt because your not worthy... and no top contender will want to fight someone that cant finish off an oponent like this...

Didn't look to me like he was trying to, he never really left second gear despite hurting him numerous times. I think he was just getting some rounds in.

Mundine didn't look too good to be honest. He still looks vulnerable at times (and this was against a lesser opponent) and defensively relies too much on his reflexes.

The positives he can take out of this fight are that he got plenty of rounds against a tough opponent although sloppy and slow fighter. Also he showed good patience, with all the expectations of a quick knockout, he didn't cave into that pressure, he got the job done and pitched a shutout. Solid workout. Another positive is that he seemed pretty mature about it afterwards and is looking to fight often.

Also Mundine had some kind of bicep injury immediately after the fight, he heard the scorecards with a big ice bag strapped to his upper arm.

take nothing away from the opposing fighter, at the end of the day we knew he wasnt in the same class, and wasnt spose to be, but mundine if claiming to fight better fighters must blow this guy out of the water, well if it was for rounds fair enough but i expect his next opponent to be much better

Mundine looked like he had it all under control the whole fight, I thought he might have been injured at about round 8 as he was in total control and is enough of a professional to at least try to close the show.

I thought he was definately hindered by an injury and an opponent who was tough as nails and kept punching, but he only really ate a couple of big punches the whole fight and seemed to shake them off easily. He looks really worried when he takes a shot though, but his defensive moment seems very good. Tough to really tell against a fighter so much slower though. Still Mundine is at least good enough to put up a challenge to Kessler.

all i will say is how can Nievas take so much punishment and not go down.

what heart he showed and also has a qaulity beard on him.

im pretty sure Mundine as a Torn Bicep Muscle aswell from what it looked like.

Not Mundine's best perfomance if some where after a KO but man did Nievas take some shots or what. did you see his face.

It was a little like the Kessler Andrade fight. Nievas was a decent fighter in good shape who had a crack. Mundine looked very sharp. This fight did nothing to suggest that Mundine is anything but a top contender. Mundine did what he needed to do against a tough, dangerous opponent.

Just got back from the fight...I was sitting 20 meters from the ring.....Mundine was very fast hitting Nievas with 100+ great jabs and lots of power shots....credit to Nievas for going the distance.

Nievas had a good left hook early and boxed sort of ok until the forth when he started throwing bombs. He had Mundine is some trouble a few times but Mundine was so fast and accurate with his punches.

Last round Nievas caught Mundine with some big shots and Mundine admitted he got stung.

Good work out for mundine...Nievas will get some good fights on that performance and should beat a few guys rated 10 to 15.

Good crowd...maybe 5000 or 6000 people with 80% of people going for Mundine...yes thats right...for Mundine....normally its the other way round

I thought Mundine won 10 rounds with 2 rounds a draw.

I had it 118-109. Mundine 10 rounds to 2. How bout that 5th round? Mundine definitely looked hurt from a left hook I believe. Then layed on the ropes not throwing anything back for a while.

His jab was beautiful tonight though.

    :lol::lol::lol:

If there is something that Top contenders are generally looking for... it's a title holder with no knock out power.

Not that I think that Mundine doesn't have ko power, I only wantred to point out how wrong this statement was.
