Anyone else surprised by the amount of decisions? I haven't watched the card yet, but I hope for M1's sake that the fights were action packed decisions...and not boring ones. PS: As long as they have Lenne Hardt announcing, I'll watch.
If thats the screaming old Lady then yes she was:thumbsup Russow Zentsov was a good bout.He submitted Zentsov with a north south choke. Was very Jeff Monson-esque. Zentsov doesnt seem to have a clue these days but his heavy handed and a welcome addition to the heavy division.Russow simply outwrestled him on the mat and subbed him with ease.He must have gone for the north south at least 3 times.
Thats probably not surprising. From the angle that he subbed him Choi`s arm/elbow MUST have hyper extended. His either got a bad sprain or at worst a break on his Elbow. And that was the 2nd time that Fedor pulled the same sub.
Fedor couldnt even get him to the mat properly.Everytime he went for the take down he basically tried a belly to belly suplex him to the floor and Choi because of his massive size and strength always landed on top.If that had been any other fighter they would have been smashed to bits from full mount.Fedor though is just way to slippery on his back and from the mount. This guy is like Big Nog.They can pull subs almost out of thin air.
easy now !, Fedor on his back against this guy was prob more effective, he almost got the first armbar quickly and the next shortly after...it was innevitable...just how quick. The guy was a perfect oppponent for an armbar.
Thats easy enough to say in hindsight but bear in mind he had 360lbs of weight on top of him that caused some big bruising in under 2 minutes. If that was ANY other heavy from full mount they would have been smashed to pieces. To control someone over 1 and half times your body weight is a big deal.
true enough, Fedor did take some cuffs to the head....and prob realized he'd better end it sooner than later.
Well it looks like Sapp has made his peace with the K-1 and we all know how much they love a freak show.So stay tunned!:yep
To be honest, that was alot closer than I expected it to be. HMC got some good strikes in, and Fedor's face looked terrible. If HMC was able to get some real GNP training (as another poster suggested), he probably could've pounded Fedor out, his gargantuan weight advantage really helped him where his skills failed. Then again, it's very hard to find size+skill when the size is 7'2 and 350lbs Brilliant armbar, though.
Choi isn't some slouch, freak show. The guy has talent for his huge size. However, the amount of space that his size naturally puts between him and his opponent will always be a problem against a good submission fighter, or even a so-so submission fighter. Fedor would win by armbar anytime he chose in a fight against him, because he has too much room to swivel his hips out, and lock it in.
