    Wilson had a granite chin and was impossible to knock out. Ruiz is a different fighter without the same chin.

    Ruiz fights more intelligently than Wilson, is a better boxer, and has more power,

    Yes, but Wilson ALWAYS went the distance. I looked over his record and out of his 41 defeats only one was a stoppage loss and that was a TKO very early in his career. Saying Ruiz would beat Ike because Wilson went the distance with him is laughable.

    Wasn't even a knock down TKO either. It was a bad cut.

    He wouldn't. He could last the distance with him though.

    That's my sole point. Clinching intelligently can get you places your lack of skill won't.

    Fair enough I thought you were implying Ruiz would beat Ike by clinching and frustrating him :good

    It's possible Ruiz could last the distance, though. I would bet on a Ike KO but if Ruiz went into survival mode he could go 12.

    I'd take Ike by KO too if I was going to bet on it, honestly.

    Just saying, for arguments sake.

    i agree entirely,

    beaten by two former middle weight champions yet beating two former heavy weight champions makes me wonder how good he was?

    john ruiz, what does he possess?

    he turns fights into clinching pummelling wrestling matches, he not incredably fast or incredably strong or has the greatest chin, so what make him very good?

    he beats holyfeild, oquendo, rahman, galota, johnson and fought a close fight with valuev?

    he is either very good or a spoiler because there are not alot of fighters that could do that.
