This is a joke in my opinion. Mind games and trash talking are part of the game. It's not always enjoyable to listen to, yet in many ways it adds a bit of entertainment to the sport. Imagine if Ali had to watch his mouth due to fear of a lawsuit.

Let's do the fighting in the ring, not the courts.

I couldn't retrieve the link, however the libel laws in the UK are much more harsh and liberal than in the States.I suspect this suit has been claimed in the UK,as it would go nowhere in the US.
Either way this is a frivolous case and should be thrown out of court.:patsch

Wait a minute, Roach says he's filing a libel suit. It's only libel when the defamatory statements are done in print. Paulie's statements were spoken. Roach needs to file a slander suit. Maybe he should learn the law before filing these frivilous lawsuits. Does Roach even have standing in this lawsuit?

Not so.In this age of electronic media,if Paulie's verbal assault was in public and witnessed and recorded he could be held responsible.Still, this is a fight and it would be considered frivolous in the States,I am certain.:good

Of course he would still be responsible. However, being that his words were spoken and not written, a slander suit would need to be filed, not a libel suit. Furthermore, it doesn't even seem like Roach has any standing which would mean he can't even file the suit. Well, he can file it but it would get tossed out.

There you go, hit it right on the head. Roach cannot sue for Khan and Khan can't sue in the US unless he is a legal resident- which from all his visa issues I'd be safe in saying he is not.

I have not seen or read the supposed infraction of Paulie. If it was a malicious statement(verbal) it would fall under the slander act. However if it was captured via image(TV as an example) it would fall under the libel act.
Can anyone shed light on Paulies alledged transgression?

It doesnt matter if they can actually win or not or if it gets thrown out. Freddy isnt out to actually get money from Paulie, its all about ****ing with him. It depends on whether paulie lets this get to him, if so then roach has won
