Saying who is overrated w/o adding context as to WHY they are is kind of pointless. Case in point, there isn't a single top boxer who isn't overrated by their fans, or underrated by detractors. And unfortunately, it's the overrating fanboys who cause so much strife in others who then hate on them, simply over what fanboys claim. Which is no fault of any boxer. I guess there are some here who are rated VERY highly while not having the resume to prove it.
Look at his resume... It's paper thin. Then look how many P4P lists he ends up on. He looks like he might be good, but you have to do more than look good against second rate fighters to deserve that kind of reputation - you have to prove it by beating A-grade fighters and getting hold of the real belts, unifying, etc.
Crawford I agree, but not Canelo. By far he's amongst the most proven guys out there today and one of the few willing to fight multiple times a year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the number of fights he's had since moving up to 168 might be more than Fury and Wilder combined in the same time frame.
Rocky Balboa. Lost way too many fights to even get a shot at the world title. Barely beat an aging Apollo Creed the 2nd time. Creed got to his feet first but fell down. Pure luck. Fought a bunch of no names to defend his belt. Then got clubbed by Clubber. Ivan Drago beat himself by punching himself out of it. Went way too hard to soon frying his nervous system. Don't forget he fought Mason Dixon who took it easy on him. Carried him out of pity. Overrated.
Fury has a world class win (Wlad) and is unbeaten, so it's fair to say he should be - whether he's still that or not is something his horrible performance against Ngannou leaves open to doubt, but without knowing how good Francis is yet, I'm willing to give him benefit of the doubt. Wilder's resume is not world class, and although he looks like he could've beaten some better fighters than he actually managed to (his best win being Ortiz whose resume is questionably fringe top ten on a generous day) he chose not to fight them... I'd feel more confident saying Wilder's not world class than saying he is, hopefully he'll do something to prove it one way or another (but it's very late in the day now!)
