I have no doubt that Grybas would have been Australia's number one Sports commentator within a couple of years. His Football commentary was excellent and his work on other sports was very good as well particularly Boxing. This is a sad loss for Australian sport as we are lacking in real young talent in the commentary box. It appears strange to die alone at 32 with no suspicious circumstances, will be interested to know what they find out. Very sad.:-(

No doubt, I didn't really feel Clinton as a Boxing commentator at all ( not that he had the chance, just doing Chocs fights) , but for AFL he was very good and with Dennis Cometti pulling the plug he would have been next in line for the prime job at seven.

    Yeah totally agree.
Great footy commontator, but i personally didnt like him at all as a boxing commontator.
Seemed like a good bloke, that tried to do his boxing homework.

Damn...what a surprise. Apart from the boxing, I remember him also commentating on some the NBL matches I use to watch.

    RIP
Clinton was a really good guy who as a 16 year old coached my cousins' basketball team the "Warrandyte Redbacks". Back then he used to have his mates or brother record all the players complete stats. I guess this showed his commitment to sport and held him in good stead when he first commentated on the ABC. One thing I believe is that no matter what sport he covered he was a natural at calling it! A true sports identity thats life was cut tragically short!

He was a brilliant AFL commentator, always had plenty of relevant things to talk about and left out the over the top emotion and the cliches, him and Wayne Carey commentating together was the best, won't be able to replace him, it's a damn shame.
