Dan Rafael: The fight did 1.3M Pac fans: It's not official yet, let's wait for HBO's official numbers. *****s: Only idiots wouldn't believe Dan Rafael, Schaefer and Dana White. Those are three sources! 1.3M it is! News Flash: It did 850K buys Typical *****s response below: :rofl:rofl:rofl
Man thats GREAAATTT...Anything over a mil is fantastic...I thought it did 800k...Floyd still got it and Ortiz is a no name!
Over a million buys agaist a novice opponent for Floyd is very good. Remember De La Hoya did 800,000 buys for both the Mayorga and Steve Forbes fights.
What's even worse is that PAC sold more and got paid less. With that being said, I think Floyd is cool with the results. The end
Mayorga was only 800k? you would expect a crazy hatred hyped match up like that to do better. 1.15 is decent, its just that people expect something around 1.5 because of floyd being a draw and the strong undercard. Anything above a mil is pretty good though, I expected it to do 1.2/1.3 so im not very shocked.
1.15 million PPV is very good when your entire fanbase is incarcerated. Can you imagine what the numbers would be if Floyd had any normal fans?
I agree it was a success however....300K in PPV buys the next day is aot! There were a few overly excited Floyd fans who see throwing out ridiculous numbers like 1.5 to 1.7 million before and after the fight. Pac fanatics are simply willingly to point that out because it does burn a lil for some of those Floyd fanatics.
1.15 is impressive considering it was $70 to buy and the opponent was weak. It's funny that people think Floyd would ever risk this gravy train by facing Martinez at 155lbs. He probably really could fight Matthew Hatton a draw close to a million buys. He can fight once a year a be one of the highest paid athletes in the world. He'll fight Kahn next (if Kahn beats Peterson), but he should probably wait until Amir has about three more fights in the US to increase his marketability. I'm afraid to imagine what they'll try to charge for the Manny-Floyd fight. $100?
