    Daily Mail says so.

The business that owes Calzaghe 2 million quid has gone into administration, but Frank Warren Promotions that now controls Khan, the Olympians, etc seems to be going along fine :think

hold on, isn't sports network just the name of Warren's promotional company?

Isn't the mystical difference between `Sports Network` and `Frank Warren Promotions` the bone of contention in Setanta's lawsuit against Warren?

    http://www.britishboxing.net/news_3769-Setanta-wants-millions-from-Warren.html

"Setanta Sports announced in April that they had signed an 'exclusive' deal with Warren to show his boxers, including Joe Calzaghe. Amir Khan was still under contract with ITV at that time, but the broadcaster expected him to join them once that expired in the summer.

In the interim, Setanta Sports then signed a deal with David Haye's new Hayemaker Boxing outfit which left Warren 'very angry' (see BBN news archive). They also agreed to still show Calzaghe's November fight with Roy Jones Jr, despite the Welshman leaving Warren and going solo - resulting in more court action.

Warren then announced a three-year deal with Sky Sports which begins tonight with a PPV event featuring Amir Khan and Alex Arthur v Nicky Cook.

To the layman, this seemed to directly contradict the contract announced earlier in the year, leaving many people puzzled and Setanta looking embarrassed. I requested a statement on the matter from Setanta Sports' PR people but, unusually, didn't receive any acknowledgement.

When Boxing News dealt reported the Sky deal in their issue of 15th August, they wrote: "Warren did reveal, however, that the Sky deal covers 'all Frank Warren fighters' exclusively, rather than all 'Sports Network' fighters. He was coy about the difference between the two"."

If this is true then this tops anything Warren has ever done. Until it is confirmed for sure that JC doesn't get his cash then I won't say anymore.

It most certainly is that easy.

Most developers these days carry out each project under a different company name.... say Gary Neville became a developer, you might see (on the Companies House list of firms):

    Gary Neville Properties
    Gery Neville Ventures
    GN Properties
    Neville Manchester 2006
    Neville Sheffield 2009

All with the same directors.... that way, if one of them fails, the only thing that is lost is the assets tied up within that particular company..... rather than the group as a whole.

Plenty of demolition firms (mine included) buy the machines, then sell them for £1 to the director who takes ownership of them under a different company. Those are then leased back to the main company for an appropriate rate per week.

If the demo firm goes under, the machines remain the property of the director rather than going into the hands of the receiver.

Whilst not ethical.... it is much more widely practised these days because so many companies renege on their agreements - people not paying lease charges etc, so a perfectly good company could go under because of some **** refusing to pay their bill. When the assets get divvied up, the debtor might only have to pay a proportion of the original cost.... everyone is a winner, bar the poor sod who has lost everything!
