Not surprised Haye got so few, considering that if this forum is anything to go by most boxing fans didn't think he even deserved a nomination.
how can you remember that exact number 3 years later me thinks you have cheated.... cough cough google
It doesn't make good reading for David Haye. David Haye and boxing are two very different things. David Haye's hero is Muhammad Ali but Ali would never behave the way Haye behaved in 2010. David Haye has forgotten the very things which inspired him to take up boxing. Ali was voted Sports Personality of the century because he embodied values that go beyond winning and losing. Ali always tried to do the right thing and, through the force of his personality, his courage and his sporting ability, Ali inspired people. That is why Ali will never be forgotten. David Haye has a long, long way to go...
I think AP was a deserved winner, although he has had more spectacular seasons in the past. He's the only one of the 10 who has won me lots of money... I was shocked that neither G Mac or Westwood were not in the top 3. In particular Westwood, I mean he's world number 1 for ****s sake!!
I think this sends out a fantastic message to Haye. The British public are not fooled. That Harrison fight is seen as a joke not just by us, but by casual sports fans by large. 7000 votes in 2 weeks, that's 500 per day. It's like only your extended family repeatedly voting for you. Haye is well liked by boxing fans and the public so it's not personal. Haye must take this message on board. Calzaghe did well to allude to the fact that Haye needs to unify in order to be recognised as the best in his division. Why did I just post all of this on seperate lines.... Like White Tiger?
http://twitter.com/mrdavidhaye Looks at this, he is basically saying that he shouldn't have been nominated!
Tony McCoy was a deserved winner. There's a lot more to being a jockey than 'sitting on a horse' and he is probably the best ever.
