A vote for David Haye is not a vote for the sport of boxing. The sport of boxing is about self-improvement, honest endeavour and valour.

Sport does not build character, it reveals it. This year David Haye has revealed through his actions that he does not love boxing and the values which make boxing a great sport. David Haye loves himself, he loves money and he loves winning. He has not challenged himself this year. He has not improved himself. He has not put himself in a place where he has needed to draw on his reserves of courage.

If you love boxing you cannot vote for David Haye because David Haye is just using boxing for his own personal gain. It's not only that before I would vote for Haye I would vote for Carl Froch or Amir Khan, fighters who have achieved more than Haye this year; I would also vote for a journeyman who always comes to fight and always tries his hardest before I would vote for David Haye.

I like the idea of a "Sports Personality of the Year" award. It should not just go to the most famous sportsman but it should be awarded to a sportsman who has shown they respect their sport, a sportsman who has honoured their sport with their endeavour and a sportsman who has inspired people with their efforts.

The idea that David Haye deserves such an award is ridiculous. Can anyone here really advocate a vote for David Haye? Really?

Ffs sake I think the point is we would love to see boxing mainstream again on terrestrial tv putting it closer to the front of peoples minds in sports terms. If people don't understand the logic of that then the future if boxing is worrying. Plus he didn't do too bad of a job against Ruiz and valuev. I don't think those performances should be underestimated especially the valuev one

Didn't Calzaghe win it in 2007?.....i haven't seen much Boxing on BBC since...plus Haye's beat Ruiz and Audley this year and really lost his fans more then gained. He's acted like a idiot this year and from a moral standpoint i'm refusing to feed his already inflated Ego.

If by some miracle Haye does win, is it really gonna change boxing?

It didn't make a difference when Joe won it and Ricky was 3rd.

Surely Khan should be ahead of Haye.

    hopefull Tony McCoy wins it..

    15 times champion jockey.

    Over 3000 winners

winer of this years grand national.

Past winner of gold cup, king george etc...

has to constantly keep his weight down to 2 stone under what it would regulalrly be, all year round..

has broken most of the bones in his body from falls....

Clearly the greatest jump jockey ever..I reckon he deserves it...

Did he win it? I don't know, but Britain has a hw champion, and this should be championed and milked to ****.
I can understand the bad feeling for haye, I just wish people would see the bigger picture, and make them realise they can't ignore boxing forever
