not a bad shout, but he did get beaten into second in the Tour De France...But then again he did win the most stages...Better shout than Haye anyway..

If it was Khan or Froch I'd vote for them.

But I can't vote for Haye - he's done so little to merit it.

Well Cavendish did win the sprinters green jersey in one of the two other grand tours, La Vuelta-which I'd say is as good an achievement as his wins in le Tour but obviously not as high profile. I think he's ace, but I reckon his 'attitude' isn't the most endearing to casual sports fans.

Shut up about the sports personality of the year, nobody cares about it. Its a joke of a programme, where no marks get credit. It used to be a good show about 15years ago, but now it is a horrible ****ing con fix of a show.

Shut the **** up about it, NOBODY.....NOBODY CARES.

In terms of achievement, Haye would probably be the least deserving winner in the history of what is, a fairly prestigious award.

If fighting an over the hill, never that great Ruiz, and a never was in Harrison is the pinnacle of sporting achievement, well... there's hope for us all.

In terms of 2010 resume and achievement, would Haye even be considered to be in the top 5 British boxers this year?

I agree with Frank Warren in that the boxing fraternity should boycott SPOTY. They don't give a **** about our sport yet when it comes to events like this are only too happy to parade our stars.

Froch, Khan, Haye and other other boxer that's being invited should not go.

    **** the BBC.

And Haye does not deserve it.

McCoy for me, Haye is a disgrace and if you win SP for beating an over the hill fighter and a never even near the hill fighter then Britains sports stars much be absolutely shocking.

As was said earlier haye is a terrible ambassador for the sport and dosnt come near Froch or Khan for me. Im even hoping he gets Kod next year. The sham

I don't think I'm talking balls at all.
    It's an opinion.
For me, I would vote for a boxer everytime as I want the BBC to know that people do give a damn about the sport that they have discarded.
I'm fully aware that someone like Froch deserves to be in it more, but they're not.
I've said I understand the fans views on Haye and I haven't tried to justify his nomination above other boxers.
I don't expect David to win or get anywhere close, but I would have liked for boxing fans to get him into top three to make a statement.

But having said that, as someone has pointed out, Joe and Ricky both came top three a couple yrs back and nothing changed on the channel.
So we might as well give up on terrestrial tv.

    you think??

I know darts is popular, but would it be as popular as golf? Also Westwood is world number 1, which is no mean feat...
