That's the point though - Haye has treated the fans with contempt in the past three years, and as such it's unreasonable to expect anyone to even consider voting for him. The BBC aren't interested in boxing because Audley Harrison fought a series of soft opponents that were probably paid peanuts..... Haye hasn't exactly showed willingness to mix it during his spell as a part time fighter at HW either. ITV have always been interested, but time after time greedy promoters have put their own interests ahead of their paymasters - Mick Hennessy had a brilliant opportunity but somehow managed to screw it up. Until someone really ups their game and delivers a product that people are interested in and want to see, terrestrial TV will always be a pipedream.
Yeah I do mate, I just think there is a big clamouring behind Taylor and McCoy and if McCoy win its this year, Taylor will win it next year.
All the odds for the SPOTY: http://www.oddschecker.com/specials/awards/sports-personality-of-the-year/winner
To be fair though, at the start of year he was banging goals in left, right and centre and was looking nailed on for a good World Cup.
I am voting for Haye and i hope you guys do too.It would win me £200 i put the bet on ages ago hoping the Audley fight would not be a joke,at 50-1 it felt like a decent punt at the time.I really should stop making stupid bets
I disagree. It's boxing that needs the wake up call far more than the BBC. A vote for Haye would be condoning boxing in it's present guise ie FOUR world titlists, extremely ' dodgy' ratings, avoiding main rivals etc..
The BBC won't show Boxing even if he wins...:yep I agree, Boxers should boycott an Awards Ceremony that does give a **** about what they do and will not show Boxing as a Primetime Sporting Event...:deal
cavs attitude is one of the main reasons i became a fan of his and aware of him in the first place. he's a winner. he doesnt talk in cliches and he doesnt put up with bull****. if hes crap, he says hes crap. he takes on the best and he ****in whips them(on the road certainly). he talks the talk and he backs it up. he's a real champ, not like too many namby-pampy weak minded brits we have seen in the past. the british cycling setup as a whole is full of hard-minded, strong ****ing winners. all sportspeople should all look and learn from them
AP McCoy and Phil the Power Taylor both deserve to win it over the last couple of years they have been top in there sports and been the best of there generation so they deserve it this year. After the **** of Giggs getting last year for what it is a joke. Also Cavandish the sprinter is amazing 15 wins on tour de france so far he is a world class sprinter but is in a minority sport so hasnt got a chance to win it. GMac has a chance if McCoy doesnt get it.
