Burns should be nominated, what a season he's had

 

What, Laryea, Burns and Katsidis? Surely if Froch is being eliminated on the basis of only having one fight then Burns should be treated as having only one challenging fight?

Just playing Devils Advocate, they can nominate Stephen Hawking for all I care as long as Cavendish wins.

As I say, I'd only count Katsidis as a decent points earner. The other two fights were a complete waste of time.

Cavendish.

 

A solitary worthy competitor doesn't not make a good overall selection of people.

 

Of those listed I'd say Darren Clarke.

Khan, Cook and Strauss have no personality to speak of, which is the whole point of the award, surely?

I dont think its just a personality thing, otherwise Jimmy Bullard would of won it a few times. Sporting achievement is obviously looked for aswell.

Either cavendish or Mo Farah for me

Mo was class this year, he only lost once out of something like 16 races and in that race he finished second to win the silver in the world championships. If he can win the double gold in the olympics he will earn a lot of money I think, next years awards will be a lot more interesting with the olympic results etc

 

To be fair, the race he finished second in was the 1 big race of the year that he would of traded all his other titles in for...Dont get me wrong, he should be nominated and finish second, but his season isnt as impressive as Cavendish's..

 

Mo was so unlucky in that final he timed his race wrong, dont get me wrong I would be happy for cav to win hes a quality cyclist, its just I run long distance as well (slowly) so i'd prefer Mo to win. Also the way Mo came back and won in 5000 took a lot of bottle
