    By the way, in the last seconds of that video, there is a photo of an older man and a Filipino reporter at the MGM Grand in 2011's Pac-Marquez III.

    The older man is JOE REIN, AKA the legendary JOHN GARFIELD.

    Reading those two books...the essays Alexis Arguello and Black July are my favorites. The style reminds me of A.J. Leibling and is something I never thought I would find in a modern writer.

    Gods of War is quality.

    Just finished the book and loved it all. So many great articles and concentrated on the fighters that tend to get overlooked in favour of Ali, Tyson and Sugar Ray Leonard.

    Love your work Stonehands, first became aware of you when reading thesweetscience.com and purchased The Gods Of War as soon as it was released. An amazing read. Will be adding In The Cheap Seats to my collection very soon. Pleased to hear there will be a third. Have recently started writing articles about boxing myself, got six published so far, no where near your class but gotta start somewhere right. All the best

    I have had my eye on "The Gods of War" and "In the Cheap Seats" for a while and ordered both a couple days ago from Amazon - I eagerly await their arrival!

    Joe told me a story about that fight once...He said he was with the Pacquiao team as they got onto the hotel elevator to go to the fight...and as they were going down...the elevator stopped and opened...and it was the Marquez team! Instead of waiting, the entire Marquez got in! So both fighters and their teams were cramped in a tiny elevator going to the fight...Joe said it was very intense situation...and funny at the same time! Neither team was going to wait on the other! For nothing!...
