I thought it was the correct tactics at the beginning of the round, trying to take away anything Audley had left by making him retreat and cover up. He was then, just like Audley was in their 1st fight, caught with a million-to-one shot when he dropped his arms. Gutted for Sprott though.
All in all and considering he didn't throw a right hand for ten rounds it was a decent performance by A-Force...great finish
I don't know...wasn't Sprott on the ropes at the time? He dropped his hand and gave Audley the target. When Sprott came out aggressively he took the play out of Audley's hands, Audley won't counter when punches come his way, so in truth that was taking away any chance Audley had. He looked to be on the defensive at the time of the shot and he made a mistake by dropping his hand. Could have happened if he coasted it :conf
Audley doesn't pull the trigger enough for me. He's got very good power as he showed! He just waits too long, thinks too much. Looks like it doesn't come naturally to him. He's thinking too hard in there. It should be more instinctive by now. When he lets his hands go, he can do something like this, would trouble any heavweight in the world. he is the most frustrating fighter out there, I have no doubt! It's like you want him to be able to do this to guys, but he's gotta believe in himself in there. Ok so he proved in this fight he has heart, he can stand and fight and come back when he's up against it, however, still question marks on his ability, not so much his ability to box, but to put together any kinda rhythm and fluidity in there.
He was on the ropes, but Audley had just turned him a couple of seconds earlier after Sprott's attack. It was silly of him to drop his arms, but before that he was doing really well in the round IMO.
im not making excuses as im not a fan of audley either but its clear he ****ed his right arm up thats his game jab jab jab jab leave the jab out left hand jab jab jab and he didnt do it so not an excuse but he was hurt
Exactly. What if he coasted the round, Audley pressures him looking for the KO, Sprott spins away from an attack, drops his hand momentarily and gets KO'd? Wouldn't people be saying 'why did he take his foot off the gas..why didn't he continue the tactics that worked?' Just one of those things..mistake..big heavyweight punch..game over.
Let's give Sprott kudos for trying to make a point. Harrison proved him wrong, but Sprott went out like a man should. He may not ever be a world-class boxer, but he proved himself something better--a world-class man. That's an example for all, athletes and non-athletes to follow. Similarly, Billy Conn had Joe Louis beat in their first fight...then tried to make a point, and just didn't have the punch to make it. And the rest is history....
