Although I believe Srisaket showed good sportsmanship, at the same time, I also think it’s a little strange for apologizing for doing what your supposed to do. Unless he put Roman in a coma or worse, there really is no reason to say sorry. I think you hit the nail on the head that, if it was Roman’s KO, it’d just be another 1 for his KO record.

Again, I respect Srisaket for his comments and all but, this is boxing and this happens all the time... (no disrespect. Just never seen this happen before :()

I don't think hes truly sorry though. Although, it is a nice gesture. At the end of the day, he would shatter Roman's chin again if put into the same position.

First thing sprung to my mind reading this thread was the talk that Marciano went to his dressing room after knocking out Louis and cried. It's showing respect for a fallen great.

He works as a policeman now. Here he is forced to do push-ups because of wearing white socks

Roman is a certified warrior, a true gent and the epitome of class. SSR didn't need to apologize for anything but it was a very classy gesture of him to do so and it says a lot about what kind of person he is too.

Roman Gonzalez him self has always been so classy and respectful to his opponents so he deserves respect back as well.

I'm saying hes saying sorry, but he doesn't mean it.

When you say sorry, its like saying "I didn't mean to do that", just saying if he met Roman again in the ring he'd try to do the exact same thing lol. It couldn't have gone any better for him. Maybe he wishes that Roman hadn't had to get hurt for him to win, but he did what he needed to do to win.

It's weird how many posters here are confused by this gesture. They just can't figure this out.....

I don’t think it’s a problem of whether we can figure it out or not. More of like, “why?”

But it’s a great gesture nonetheless and I don’t think anyone is objecting that...
