Why come SRL & ODLH Don’t catch as much flack about their A$ide behaviors & antics as opposed to guys like Mayweather & Canelo’s A-$ide behaviors?

because one could say those 2 (SRL & ODLH)
originally paved the way for A side tactics & concessions - was it a learned behavior of set precedent ?

Mayweather learned it when he was subjected to the A-$ide tactics by Oscar & then Mayweather subjected it to Canelo who has himself picked up the same tactics.

All are guilty of pushing their A-$ide stays & concessions …
    so why the double standards?

    discuss.

They do get a lot of flack. Especially SRL if you take a look at the classic forum.

Level of opposition is better for SRL and ODLH.

They do get flack. You can't mention SRL without being hounded about his A side divas.

That's not the real issue though. I don't think people are bothered by A side nonsense. I think people are bothered when A side nonsense stops a fight from happening.

SRL and DLH made all their fights. But if any of their A side nonsense would have stopped a fight happening they'd be being ripped into just like a siders do today.

Even worse are the ones like tank who still don't have a championship belt to their name.

This. Simple they do get flack but one can only say so much without acknowledging the greatness of their resumes. SRL fought a prime undefeated Wilfred Benitez and Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran 8 years without a loss, and Marvin Hagler went 11 years without a loss.

Oscar’s resume do not have to even be dissected guys who watch boxing know who hes fought. The guy fought the who’s who of his era, the era before him and the era after him.

    This is definitely true
Although Mayweather & Canelo do have excellent resumes they don't quite measure up to SRL, they are similar to ODLH.
I’d still give Oscar the nod over them because he faced his boogeyman prime for prime vs Trinidad, Mosley, Vargas, Hell even Chávez was a scary fight for him at the time.

    Bingo!
    This the #1 reason.
I just came to that realization
With ODLH fighting Trinidad , Vargas & Mosley
Those 3 where all Boogeymen & they were all prime.

& what can be said about SRL?
    - he is the #1 Boogeyman ATG gladiator.

dude I didn’t invent the term “Mayweather effect”

    Not trolling
Just saying it might be generational
Although ODLH & Floyd are close in Age
    Hence I say “Mayweather effect”
Because once he became the A-$ide the game changed up after he schooled Canelo.

Canelo & other boxers took notes on more then just what happened in the ring.:deal:

Mainly because neither are fighting anymore. Plus adding to the fact that we now have a medium for anyone and everyone to spew nonsense 24/7/365. If the internet as he have it, existed back then, would be exactly the same thing. Even about 20 years ago though, on this site, people did give Oscar **** for his shenanigans. But Oscar, in his heyday, was a true crossover superstar, as was SRL. Even big sellers of recent like Floyd and Canelo never made the same mark and Oscar and SRL. They might've sold more, but the vehicle was different. Example, Floyd sold more PPVs then Ali did. Floyd was not more popular than Ali.

So not really a double standard. One can't retroactively complain about something that happened 20-30 years ago because they simply don't have the relevance today to need the uproar.
