If it was the fair skinned dude, kinda blonde hair, Davey boy Green..

Leonard knocked him colder than a wedge..

Long long long time ago I'm thinking 1976, most likely 1977..

1980 I believe. Just before he fought Duran.

I watched this fight the evening it was televised. ABC, televised 4 championship fights in one night. Eddie Mustafa Muhammad KO'd Marvin Johnson, Mike Weaver KO'd Big John Tate in the 15th with one punch, Larry Holmes stopped Leroy Jones. I thought Leonard damned near killed Dave 'Boy' Green with that left hook. Great night of boxing, all televised for free. Dave 'Boy' Green a few years earlier fought Carlos Palomino for the Welterweight title and was winning, before being knocked cold by a Palomino left hook in the 11th round. Something about big left hooks didn't agree with Green's chin.

Damn you have a good memory man..

Anyways, yea those were the good old days, championship fights on FREE TV!, too bad them days are never coming back..

Green was a game fighter I forgot about the Palomino duel, he just didn't have the chin and defense to compete with the top tier guy's..

I remember this...it was Dave "Boy" Green. Strange thing was the time of the KO was 2.27 of the 4th, same round and same time as MSM's kayo of John Conteh at around the same time...circa March 1980
